First loves, first cigarettes, first high school dances. hot babes, and even hotter cars, cruising up and down main street. Reagan in the white House and Amy o'Neill on our minds. ahh, those were the days Weren't they? And Dead Culture records were spinning through it all. It was real punk rock- it wasn't the pretty boy stuff you'd hear on the radio today. Those were the days. anyway, I ripped some of their tunes off the old box and thought Id share them here. let them take you back to those bittersweet years

Boy i tell ya, it about brought tears to my eyes posting this one. this song was the only thing that could console me after my first breakup in '83. A lot of nights spent listening to this record. Songs like these were the classics

Lonely halloween for me this year.... anyway Thought id share one of favorite Haloween tunes from the old days. this one by the big DC w as orignially released in October 1986.....or maybe it was 85. Any way you could hardly go  any where without hearing this tune all that month!!. and we sure weren' t complaining about it HA. My vinyl copy was a little dusty But it still sounds great. enjoy

Dead Culture - "October"

Where to begin? Cauldron was the  first song i ever heard by Dead Culture.. the band that would define our generation. this was their debut single. Smash hit? You bet ya    I still remeber the first time i heard it back in 1980. Billy Hoffman played it for us in the locker room after footbal practice (All the guys played ball back then,  it wasnt like today.  Was sad to hear that billy passed away last month. My nephew showed me a forum on the internet where some other old timers like me will message about the music from the old days. Im not much of a computer guy- but it is pretty neat! think i will be spending my Halloween posting there. And listening to Dead culture of course

So most of you will know i use this page for Dead culture classics only . But Hey! The page has my name on it don 't it? I have to tell you i'm just so proud of my nephew Jason. This is a song by his gruop called Blowdart. he plays the bass. I was really impresed when he showed me! OF course it's not as heavy as the real punk we used to listen too, but still some real rock. He says theyre group is "shoegaze ,old uncle Harold had never heard that one before ha! If youre ever passing through Spearfish South Dakota, they play some of the local joints
