There is a small boat amidst the waves; a girl on the beach looks at it distractedly, hiding her cheeks in a scarf. She looks down for a moment, her feet burning naked in the snow. 
There are footprints in front of her. Her eyes follow them to the horizon. The boat is gone, in its place a figure seen from behind. She would like to reach it, tries to run in the direction of that figure , but cannot move as she would like.

Then the wind; strong and cold that makes it difficult even to breathe. She faints to the ground to wake up on the mainmast of a vessel.
A tepid sun makes her squint her eyes to focus on a calm sea, motionless, as red as the sunset. Everything is still, everything is quiet.

Richard J Aarden's Stolid & Bruised EP is the autumn sea, where everything is dismantled and becomes a memory, close and tangible as the scars.
The end is continuously mixing with the beginning.

It is a world of sensations, trails and researches; ghosts who do not want to be evicted and who find peace only by leaning on the strings of a guitar.

There is the beauty of leaving for a long journey; there is loneliness and torment but, after all, there is also the peace of being home.

In 2014 I moved to Gibsons B.C and built guitars for the winter. We lived in a small stain glass windowed cabin on top of Harvey Hill while we built guitars. When I got home I wrote this song about how I had felt about Cranbrook and the routine I was in. Hope you like it.

No one can remember how it started, least of all Kazunari Muto himself, but amongst the rage towards the desolation of human life that has been bubbling in him for ten years or more, Muto’s bedroom recording project, under the moniker of Boys Age, has been steadily creating a genre of music he calls “HolLo-FI”. “HolLo-FI”, a term coined by Muto, combining the words “hollow” and “lo-fi”, embodies the work of an artist coming full circle to where he began, finding an esoteric universe of musical possibilities that he was unable to touch in his earlier works. Still recording in a small thin-walled apartment in suburban Saitama, his music keeps following the path his recent singles pointed at, towards a much deeper, darker place than ever before.

'My Visitor' is the first single of the new Boys Age album coming later this year, stay tuned...
