JVXTA - The Only One

The second release on Ravanelli Disco Club comes from french producer Yann Polewka. He's enlisted jazzy englishman Cody Currie for remix duties and we must say its perfect for the summer. Cody Has been moving away from sample based productions of late in favor of crisp original productions and we like it!. This is a very warm and bouncy affair, with live keys laid down in the studio with squiggly synth leads and bubbling acid arps dancing away over his clever use of the original sample material given.

London’s Hardmatter returns with their fourth release, another from label co-boss JVXTA who is well known for fantastic outings on HOMAGE and Lobster Theremin. The package is more of what we’ve come to expect from the rising UK producer, 3 gorgeous deep house cuts that walk the line between fever dream and drunken jazz club.

The A side, Possible, finds JVXTA in top form with a medley of classic sampling, live keys and a driving late-night groove. The flip side, Suzuku Dream, delivers a more serene affair with enveloping chords and freeform strings. Hints of out of key strings follow persian scales, an unexpected but welcome touch that adds a layer of mysticism to an already enchanting track.The EP finishes with the jazz of Here I'll Stay, a vibrant jam that leaves us with an ode to the future of Hardmatter.

The record is out now via Hardmatter’s Bandcamp and most online retailers of vinyl. Grab it and show some support for the young label.
