Harris Robotis - Anything Was Cool EP

As Sweat gets deep into its 10th year (say whaaaattttt!!!)... it's nice to see some OG's on the label.

I remember seeing Harris Robotis warm up for I'm going to say MTSRKRFT... but it may have been Justice and it also may have been Busy P... but whatever... I remember thinking at the time... what a legend! A sick DJ from Melbourne, a place us Sydneysiders hate to admit but may just be cooler than our hometown... or at least, more sophisticated. (we're at the beach all day apparently so I guess it makes sense)

He was wearing black leather jackets, black jeans, black tee (Melbourne) and looked slicker than your average that's fo sure.

Anyways... it wasn't long after seeing Harris in action on the ones and twos (and back then...you could legit call them that) that we had snapped him up for his first bit of music on sweat... and at just our 7th release ever... it would be fair to say he's been with us since day one.

And even though his sound has evolved with the times (though not for the times), evident throughout his career and this very ANYTHING WAS COOL EP on CLUB SWEAT are a few things.... musicality, functionality and creativity all crafted together with THE most important thing in the game... SCHTICK!!!! aka... not boring, not generic, not copycat... original schticky shizz for club kidzzz.

And while saying respect your elders may be justified, why not just respect talent... and great music!!!

Dance Don't Stop (Original) - Harris Robotis

When starting out, most artists are faced with the difficult task of creating a name that both reflects their sound and that will continue to define them long into the future. Well thankfully Harris’ parents solved this task pretty quickly & distinctively by naming him Harris Robotis. 

His’ ear for a fresh like coconut sound, combined with a unique sense of musical style meant this humble bionic man was always destined to write, perform, spin and breathe music. Whether he's mixing, producing, singing, playing guitar, bass, keys or getting you a drink at the bar you’ll find Harris constantly moulding his own distinguishing techniques.

Harris' DJ sets will make you feel like you're wearing your undies back to front!!! Its fun at the time but the unforgivingly painful the next day.

Festivals that have put the robot to work include Future Music Festival, Good Vibrations Festival, Laneway Festival, Parklife, Splendour In the Grass, Stereosonic and Summadayze. He's played before, after and sometimes even together with Boysnoize, Justice, Digitalism, The Rapture, Tiga, Sven Vath, 2many DJ's to name a few. 

Being a part of the Sweat It Out family, his original releases and remixes tend to get you as sweaty as a fat kid in a candy store. Having number 1 and top 10 singles on radio club charts such as Nova Radio, Kiss FM and licenses to Ministry Of Sound, Onelove and Hed Kandi compilations around the world.

Aside from Harris's musical skills, when he's not making/playing music he's busy as Founder/Graphic Designer of Melbourne based design studio Subtitled Design. He is responsible for the branding of many festival, record labels and artists around the world. Some from his list of extraordinary clients include Ansell, 360 Agency, Crippen Place, Future Entertainment, Intrepid Pictures, Maker, Ministry Of Sound, Neon Records, Phazing, P Diddy, Stereosonic, Sweat It Out!, Universal Music & Warner.

The future looks exciting for Harris Robotis but can the future keep up with this robot who just keeps going and going!
