Mick Lynch,formerly Mean Features/Stump/Bernard,performing as his alter ego Don For Chickens.His xmas version was Don for Turkeys!!..:)
Some of the ad-libing,background noise,etc is hilarious...and of course Mick 'remembering' all the words..love it!
The cover pic is Charlies in Union Quay.
For anyone who never attended a Don for Chickens gig, they were excellent and very funny.He was a very witty sham!(When he wasn't telling ya to 'FUCK OFF' :) )
Bradleys was a great venue and also Charlies as the crowds always paid him the respect he deserved.
I have a video recording of this classic gig as well.Various clips on You Tube channel,Cavitation68.

Don is a card game played predominantly in Cork,especially the Northside.While sitting in a pub,Mick overheard a female patron ask "what time are the band on at?".The bemused barman asked "What band?" and the patron replied "Don for Chickens?",not realising that there was a card game called Don and the prizes for the winners were chickens!!!
And Don for Chickens was born.At Christmas when playing gigs,Mick changed the name to Don for Turkeys,which I'm sure the pub did too!!

For World Listening Day 2016 I turned my attention to the electromagnetic fields in my studio space. These are the sounds I live in every day but rarely hear. This track is a montage of various sources, with only basic editing and layering applied.

To launch Déambulations: keeping the ground of our being, Fiona Hallinan introduce the project with a talk on the form of audio guided journeys. This is followed by a panel discussion with the seven invited artists moderated by Hallinan and CCI director Nora Hickey M'Sichilli.
The title keeping the ground of our being comes from the work of author Gloria E Anzaldua.

I work in the studio with manipulated field recordings and instruments i construct from a variety of objects.

I perform live with my instruments, usually in conjunction with other artists.

I am a member of two Cork based collaborations, 
"SUNFISH" with Tony Langlois &
"Heisenberg's Children" with Mick Fitzgerald.

My recordings have been included in compilations by Art Trail, Dublin Electronic Arts Festival and Sonic Vigil.

My work has been played on Bernard Clarke's Lyric FM programme "Nova"

I also work in pinhole photography, which has similar spacial and time associations to sound.
