Eora's DJ BIG GUNS shares a bouncy mix of techno for us this week, leaning into frenetic rhythms, groovy melodies, hefty basslines and the more classic sounds from the genre — all the good stuff. A digger at heart, DJ BIG GUNS' record collection encompasses techno from the late 90s and early 2000s, plenty of which crop up in their TM8 podcast and compliment the newer sounds inside. Alongside DJing, the Australian artist has produced hypnotic tunes with tek and hardcore flavours on labels like @puppytapes, @3cb_23 and @regrets_regrets. One to watch from down under.

I asked NETNAK about the idea of making a houseset for me and why he loves house

He told me:

“I try to build up the sound exactly as I have it in mind, 
normally my bpm is very high, but the Amsterdam scene gives me so much more inspiration to play something else then what i used to play,
my style of playing is not always on the hypnotic or higher bpm side, 
as an dj you learn to adapt to certain venues of promotors. also feeling the crowd and setting the right tones for the event is what make you a real dj in my eyes
for now here you have an house set”

Command Control is an emerging London-based producer and DJ who released his first EP “Essence” earlier this year. The EP fuses his penchants for Detroit, Dub and UK Techno, with elements from all styles peppered across the release. The EP has been well received with a 10/10 rating awarded in FAZE magazine and early support from DJs Tasha, Blasha & Allatt, The Advent, Dave Clarke, Imogen and more. 

Just in time for club season, his mix for FrixXxion is a mashup of moody, groovy and sultry hip shakers to set the mood for darker nights ahead.

Set the Mood with LINDS ♀!

The half-year mark for this series, a opening set by LINDS ♀. For her, a perfect opening set is about crafting anticipation and drawing the crowd into the night’s journey. She sees it as an art form that connects her distinctive sound with the acts to follow, using careful track selection, layering, and filtering to create a seamless and infectious energy. Her approach ensures the dancefloor fills steadily, setting a captivating tone from the start.

LINDS ♀ launched her DJ journey in November 2023, experimenting with borrowed, unconventional equipment that fueled her creativity. Inspired by this beginning, she invested in a XONE 43 mixer and a XONE K2 MIDI controller, enabling her to refine her skills and develop her craft further. Drawing influence from artists like Chlär, Alarico, Kuss, Yanamaste, and Freddy K, she built a distinctive style blending dark hard groove with elements of acid and vocals, often mixing across four decks to produce dynamic, high-energy sets. While her bold techniques may occasionally result in imperfections, they lend a relatable and human quality to her performances.

Having already played at notable venues such as Hemkade, IJland, and Nexus Paris, LINDS ♀ is now channeling her creative energy into producing original tracks, with her debut release expected in January. Known for her relentless, driving sound, she approaches her sets with an immersive mindset, constantly analyzing the music for gaps to fill and ways to keep the momentum alive. Through her innovative techniques and unyielding energy, LINDS ♀ ensures her performances are unforgettable.
