Harry O. was born in the highest north, next to the polar circle, surrounded only by packs of wolves and talking pines. One day he was carried south by a giant black bird-creature.
(He can no longer remember the exact details, but is absolutely certain that it happened exactly like that. Exactly!)
And after a long, dark sleep, he awoke in East Berlin in the early 80s and the people gave ihm the name Jan O'Karry, as a reminiscence of his scandinavian-irish roots. 
he carried only this letter with him....and there was only one sentence in it that still concerns him today:

make simple music for simple people!
