Kai Rodriguez makes his debut outing on Hot Creations, delivering his two-track ‘The Thrill’ EP. 

With his late-2021 Hottrax debut ‘Underground’, DJ/producer Kai Rodriguez gave the house scene a first glimpse  of what’s to come with the 25-year-old UK talent’s breakthrough release remaining in heavy rotation for head  honcho Jamie Jones across the Ibiza season and beyond. Having since featured on bubbling US imprint Revival  New York, he steps things up a level as he reveals his first material of 2023 and his Hot Creations debut with ‘The Thrill’.
 
“Empire of the sun have got to be up there as being one of my favourite electronic duos of all time. They  had a huge influence on the EP and it’s inception. ‘Walking on a Dream’ is one of their more popular and  classic tracks and resonates with me. 2022 was a year of successes within my musical career, and a sign  that I am on the right path towards the things I want to achieve. I wanted to amalgamate that with a piece  of music, and from this idea, ‘The Thrill’ came into fruition.  

‘Sum’ Bout’ was a track that I’d be sitting on for a while. It was one of my first tracks that had genuine  positive feedback from artists that I look up to, and felt that the sound really complimented ‘The Thrill’. I’m  glad that it’s found a good home. I’d like to thank JJ again for believing in the sound and giving me this opportunity, I’m forever grateful.” - Kai Rodriguez
  
Lead track ‘The Thrill’ harnesses the iconic vocal known across the globe but switches things up, contrasting the  vibrant tones with murky low-ends and metallic percussion for a no-nonsense cut main for main rooms, while  ‘Sum’ Bout’ takes a drum-driven path as skippy hats and warped snippets ebb and flow amongst the mix for more  peak time material.

Having returned to Ibizan mecca DC10 for a third year with a fresh take on their Casino Motel concept and building on their sold-out Off Week debut in style, Solid Grooves' summer is in full swing as the world-renowned collective showcase once again why they're at the top of their game. With a string of chart-topping singles already released in 2024 and a series of highly-anticipated drops just around the corner, late July welcomes a bonus surprise with the sixth edition of the label's VA series, 'Raw Grooves'. A highlight for many, dropping via sister label Solid Grooves Raw, this latest edition comes following the success of December's fifth instalment and brings a selection of cuts at the perfect time in the height of summer.

Miami's Mr. Diamond returns, having appeared on the first-ever edition of the series, while Belgian talent Lunoize and Itay's Boogie also make second appearances following solo releases on the imprint. Also welcoming a host of fresh faces, label debuts come from Spanish talents Aaron Martin and Erik Chico, Italian's Blacksun and Wilder, and Brazilian's Luke Drash and Panna - expect more peak time material as the groovers continue to deliver!

An artist who understands groove, Nicola Gavino’s sound echoes vintage flavours with distinct funky and fresh rhythms. His summer has been a busy one, with performances at the likes of Kappa FuturFestival and his long-running residency at Turin’s Audiodrome Club, plus releases on Dennis Cruz and Eddy M’s MÜSE imprint, SOSA’s label COCO, and more. Now, as he steps out on Jamie Jones’ revered Hot Creations for the first time, the Italian talent puts his best foot forward across three peak-time house cuts inspired by the label boss himself.

“The main track was inspired by a video of Kappa's mainstage in 2022 recorded from a friend's phone. Jamie was playing this glitched edit of Sweet Dreams (which I only found more than a year later) which really blew my mind. I watched it so many times that I felt the need to make something myself, recreating and exaggerating that special vibe. The track being. chosen by Jamie himself for Hot Creations is more than a goal and an honour for me; it is about paying respect to a label and a DJ who always inspired me and which I look up to.” - Nicola Gavino

With its sharp synths, feel-good trumpets and deep driving bassline, the spirit of Chicago house is present in opener ‘Givin’ My Love’. Next, ‘Lazer Tool’ offers a more modern minimal sound, rich with percussion and distorted SFX. Closing out the EP, ‘Pump Up’ combines elements from the first two tracks with cutting percussive kicks, warping distorted vocals and a grooving hypnotic bass that’s destined for the dancefloor.

Manchester-based producer Mason Maynard is welcomed to Hot Creations to present McLovin’, featuring two tracks of equal magnitude that display his vibrant talent. Mason’s debut release on the formidable label is set for release on 10th April.

On the flip, the spellbinding Remedy features a snaking sub-bass complemented perfectly with the powerful vocals of Ursula Rucker. “In its original form the song featured an old acapella from Ursula, but when we were put in touch with each other we knew we wanted to create something completely fresh.”

Mason Maynard has already built himself an exceptional reputation, with his groove led productions backed by some of biggest names in the business including Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Green Velvet, Skream and Seth Troxler. His releases on Repopulate Mars, DFTD, Sola and Relief (where he has collaborated with Green Velvet) have been supported heavily on BBC radio. In 2019 he toured the world, with sets at EDC, Hideout, Creamfields and also across Ibiza during the summer. Praised homecoming gigs took place at Manchester’s Warehouse Project and in front of 15,000 in the Hangar at Parklife Festival. 2020 will see Mason go from strength to strength as he continues to tour the USA and announces his new FANTAZIA label. Working alongside USA electronic music heavyweights Insomniac, FANTAZIA is inspired by early acid and raving culture with a debut release dropping on 6th March.
