When we first discovered RX-101’s output on Soundcloud circa 2015, we knew we’d stumbled upon something very special. Five EPs and four albums later, and now a firmly established as a crucial artist in the Aphex/Rephlex/IDM cannon, we at Suction Records are still mining this elusive Dutch producer’s 1997-1999 archive of unreleased live-to-cassette recordings, and we’re not even close to scraping the bottom of the barrel. Suction Records is pleased to announce RX-101’s fifth album, “New Discoveries”.

As the title suggests, “New Discoveries” is not just more of the same — this is a new side of the RX-101 sound. Rather than taking inspiration from braindance heroes like Aphex Twin and Bochum Welt, “New Discoveries” is a reflection of Erik Jong (aka RX-101)’s love for classic Detroit techno - Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Carl Craig, et al. Like some of the UK producers who mined this sound for inspiration, from B12 to Kirk DiGiorgio, the influence of Detroit techno is crystal clear, even if the sound has a distinctly EU/UK flair.

Available digitally, on limited vinyl LP in a reverse-board jacket, or on CD. The CD comes in a reverse-board digipack, adding 2020’s 6-track “Hearts Utd.” EP (including a remix by Brainwalztera) as an exclusive CD bonus. All physical formats include a Bandcamp download card inside.

A «Cold Dish» is a mini-album from electronic artist @ssidermusic, his work over the past few years. The cunning interweaving of ethnic and breakbeat with electro became his master's trick long before it became some kind of a mainstream, but, obviously - he do it better than anyone else. Only check out his records on the Day by day label, and the remix of the track «Zroby Sebe Sam» by Lostlojic. Incredible melodies, mysticism, and super powerful break drums - a real work of art! Each of his tracks is a reminder of the depth of Ukrainian roots and faith in victory over the Russian invaders.

Kiki Blossom is a 90s kid, growing up at a time when vinyl was going out of style. As a teenager, she saw a 1210 DJ set up for the first time; her sister’s boyfriend was selling his gear. The fascination stuck. Fast forward ten years: she explores the electronic music scene in Glasgow as a dancer, but after a few years, longs for an experience without curfews and decides to move to Berlin in 2013. Just before leaving, she scores her own turntables. Slowly she builds a record collection and teaches herself how to mix. But soon it becomes clear she got the music bug bad, leaves the academic world of art history behind, and starts working part-time as a record cataloguer in 2020. One could say she’s a late bloomer; only after bedroom-DJing for 8 years, she played her first gig. Her love for 80/90s US House runs deep, and her mixes will always include tracks with powerful vocals singing about love and heartbreak.
