A collection of different melodies that I have played with before, but never really turned into a song.
Like the wind, I can not see God's plan for my life. There may be multiple breezes blowing me in different directions, but God's perfect plan is the prevailing wind, it will overcome everything else. 

Prevailing Winds

A simple piece mainly written for a game I wanted to play with a bunch of people, but it never ended up happening. Still, I figured the song could exist, so here it is.

Dance Of The Sneaky Sugar Plum Fairy For String Quintet, Synthesizer, and Timpani

A simple rhythm with a syncopated melody, written for string quartet. I especially made effort to keep things interesting for the cello and viola (so they won't die of boredom with such a simple supporting rhythm).
So here it is. Praise God for creating the fascinating art that is music!

Coming Change

Written by Tirzah Thomson and Josh Palmer, by God's grace.
So yes, a joint effort on this one. Tirzah came up with the original melody, and then we met together and added to it, as well gave it lyrics so it can be sung. Hopefully one day we can create a recording that includes the words as well.

The Old Fulfilled - Original Orchestral Melody

This Is Indeed My Game

Arranged for my dear friend, Josiah Prindler, who I know is quite fond of this piece.

Originally starting out as solely a piano piece, I was motivated to write it out for more instruments.
Previous renditions of this piece were under the title, "Righteousness".

Joy Anew

A string quartet accompanied by some serious percussion. I definitely wanted to try something different in the percussive aspect with this one, starting out simple and then building on top of it. Blimey, this one took a while.

Endeavour

Written for my sister's fashion show as her collection will be presented. Wanting to capture a grand forest theme, this piece incorporates a lot of deep, bass instruments, a central role for the kalimba, and a percussive section inspired by some of my sister's favourite pop/rock pieces (because models have to be able to walk to it).

Another fun note, I challenged myself to write all of the individual instrument parts on my kalimbas, limiting everything to 14 tuned keys.

Drifting Through the Forest

Another bassoon duet with piano accompaniment. To me, bassoons seem to have the ultimate "lumberjack" sound, so the feel of this piece makes me picture two brothers in the lumberjack business.

Two Brothers Bassoon

Another quick bassoon duet with piano accompaniment. The melody played by the two bassoons comes in an eighth note earlier than the beat, hence the title. And since they work so hard to come in early, they get to finish early as well (but not the piano, which faithfully keeps a steady tempo regardless of what those two fanatics are doing).

Working Ahead

God has done a lot in my life, and that includes giving me songs to share. Most of the songs here are orchestral or worship songs, but I enjoy trying different styles.
Seriously, I am not sure what else to write here. I play the piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, ocarina, autoharp, drone flute, recorder, organ, kalimba, and various hand drums. My favorite number is 53.
