Harry Wolfman has been a staple member of the Dirt Crew family since his debut collaboration with Loz Goddard in 2016. We’ve since seen considerable growth with EPs on Phonica’s “Karakul”, “Omena” and “Outplay” all lending a hand to the development of his signature sound into its now established lo-fi style, delving into a range of genres... ethereal ambience, electro and left-field rhythms, and of course deep, often break beat laden house grooves.

This new EP is no exception, Harry drops some irresistible dance tunes with “Walk With Me” and the banging title track “Sly Contrast” but also explores the boundaries of his palette with the vocal interludes “A21z” and the majestic “Courage” featuring the voice of “Mona Vale”, dipping a toe into the floaty world of lo-fi pop.

We also find ambient and Jazz elements cleverly combined in “Fhloston Paradise”. And the closing drum break joint “Wokit Shep” loops live drums, strings, piano and brass elements, twirling towards a majestic finale reminiscing dusty jazzy Trip Hop and instrumental Hip Hop pieces.

This record offers hope for better times... we are really glad to have Harry back with these strong tunes and can’t wait to hear these out again on a juicy sound system. Enjoy!

‘Ostgut Ton | Fünfzehn + 1’ is a commemorative compilation celebrating 16 years of Ostgut Ton – and the first glimpses of light at the end of a long dark tunnel for parent club Berghain.

Originally planned for release in 2020, the music focuses on the interwoven nature of the label and the club in its multitude of different spaces and musical facets. Ostgut Ton artists and close affiliates worked together in pairs to make music dedicated to five different floors, each represented by a specific 12" vinyl. The result is a diverse selection of sometimes functional, other times more abstract sonic tributes; musical homages to spaces they have both influenced and been influenced by.

With the pandemic having forced the club to close temporarily, the collaborative nature of the 5x12" boxset represents an attempt to transcend varying degrees of isolation and to wrestle with memories of music and space that had been inaccessible. But certainly not forgotten.

Now four releases in, Razor-N-Tape Reserve continues to deliver the deepness with this EP from the Netherlands’ Junktion. Although a relative upstart on the scene, Junktion has been getting some serious heads nodding lately with releases on Sleazy Beats and Outplay, and the Hot & Bothered EP continues to define his dusty and organic sound. From the summery ease of the title track, to the fresh take on the oft-sampled 'I'm Wishin' to the discofied chugger 'Fling Cleaning' followed by the slow-burning 'Visions of You,' this EP is a beautiful listen from beginning to end. Berlin based XXXY starts his latest label adventure with Sour Edits after a successful volume first release from himself a few months back, volume 2 is hot on its heels and will undoubtedly follow in the same direction, definitely a label to look out for this year. SOUR002 belongs to Marcin Krupa, the astronomical tapes label boss provides a perfect addition to the new sour edits line up with this smooth 3-track EP. Each track is uniquely impressive in its own way; the polish sample wizard perfectly creates three euphoric bangers, prepare to be taken on an emotional journey.

We have the pleasure of premiering the first track on the release, ‘Jazz with some house elements’. This Jazz-infused rhythmic weapon is everything we love here at bolting bits and is a stand out track in the EP. Marcin does wonders with the unique melody as it swirls around in a haze of house lushness, but another element I have to bring attention to is the brilliant percussive drums playing looping around tying the whole thing nicely together. One of my favourite artists Harry Wolfman is next up on Rhythmcast.

A self-confessed nerd and 'slave to the funk', Harry was raised on a diet of 'Gang Starr, St Germain, all things Ninja Tune and drum & bass' and there aren't many styles of music that he hasn't dabbled with this past decade.

Having found his feet amongst the deeper echelons of house music, 2012 saw Harry's seminal remix of Ben Pearce's crossover hit 'What I Might Do' smashed out in clubs all over the world. DJ sets across the UK and mainland Europe ensued with remixes and EPs going out on the likes of Strictly Rhythm, Island Records, Purp & Soul and the now legendary Lost My Dog Records.

In recent times Harry's more sample-focused fusion of house music with his deeper seated influences in hip hop, jazz, soul and funk has found its way onto records for the likes of House of Disco and Dirt Crew Recordings... and into the record bags of Laurent Garnier, Danny Tenaglia, Karizma, Seven Davis Jr and Jimpster to name but a few.

Apparel Music is delighted to welcome aboard one of the most talented house music producers in the scene, @lozgoddard, who’s the protagonist of APLTD012. The twelfth release of the Apparel’s limited catalogue is a brand new 4 tracks EP called “Signals” by the Mancunian featuring a 4-hands collaboration with @harrywolfman and a remix by @jad-lee. Every single track has been chosen carefully since the beginning of the project to make this record a representative work of the artist who perfectly blends his musical knowledge with the label’s imprint. The opening track “Fourth Dimension” is a teamwork between Goddard and the above mentioned Wolfman and is the ideal start with its crunchy, slightly distorted beat, bold bassline and spacey chords and arpeggios, surely a track for the DJ’s out there to play out to a busy dancefloor.

After his last release on Dirt Crew in 2017 we are more than delighted to bring back the talented Harry Wolfman. With impressive records on labels like Phonica, Omena, Outplay and Toy Tonics in the last years he has drawn up a fine new selection of music that spans across many genres and moods. This is also the first release for us in the new year after a lil break and it continues to explore the more eclectic approach we are following for a while now since the outings of artists like Dampé, S3A and Dan Only.

Harry presents an exciting opener for his new EP, together with vocalist Christian Crow he has made the blissful and breaks laden “poppy” good feel tune “A Way You Come Home to Me” that shines a bright light in these darker months. Followed by the deeper club tune “Step by Step”, building around yet another vocal recording. This time it’s Harry sampling his own voice and looping it into a repetitive piece of good feel House music.

We are getting deeper on the B side with “Speaking Raman”, one of these signature Harry tunes, a playful dusty lo-fi piece of music build around a piano theme and embedded in deep bass and driving beats, his sound trademark on all of these more floor orientated tracks on the EP. To close out the record we added two of his cinematic, ambient electronica works that we personally love so much. The haunting “Always 3” is a deep sphere that sucks you in a meditational and soothing womb of sounds. Ending with the electroid cut “Green Trees”, it’s broken and fragile and gives this indie-tronica track a warm and gentle touch.

We hope you enjoy these tunes and that they may be your soundtrack to the upcoming warmer months.
