Can you believe it? Fall of 2014 marks the 20TH ANNIVERSARY of YOSHITOSHI, the seminal record label founded by Deep Dish in 1994. To celebrate, we are bringing the classics back, remastered and with new remixes from an amazing group of heavy hitters from all corners of the dance world.

Given that Yoshitoshi’s roots are ingrained in house music, it’s only fitting to start the #YoshiClassics campaign with Eddie Amador’s “House Music”. A true Yoshitoshi classic released in 1998 that went on to become a global phenomena. The hypnotic rhythm and infectious “Not Everyone Understands House Music” has become the preach anthem for generations of dance music lovers.

Roberto Capuano releases his first single on Truesoul with two exceptional tracks that show a tech-ier side to Roberto’s sound and one that impresses throughout. The title track ‘Never Stop’ has been a highlight in Adam Beyer’s sets and its easy to understand why. The creeping vocal and driving drums are an inaugural part of the track before the uniquely pleasing pads drop in and create a gripping and immersive track to get lost in. ‘Around’ is a tech-ier track that implements a throbbing underlying bass line that sits and keeps the track driving under a roaring vocal.

Remixes come from Kevin McKay and Matt Sassari. Matt's recent singles for Relief, Intec, DFTD and Kraftek have confirmed his status as one of the go-to men for tough beats in 2016. Here he takes Dalfie's bouncing original and gives it a real 4am strobes-on workout. Kevin McKay on the other hand pups the energy levels and delivers techno 2016 with an Aril Brikha flavour.

Premiere: wAFF - Inception [Desolat]

It doesn’t get much bigger than this: Adam Beyer links up with Green Velvet and Drumcode’s outstanding rising star Layton Giordani for a debut collaboration.

Some musical partnerships feel fated. Both fans of one another’s work, for years Adam Beyer and Green Velvet had discussed writing music together. In turn, Beyer’s protégé Layton Giordani had admired the Chicagoan’s work for as long as he could remember. When the 25-year-old found himself playing alongside the green mohawked legend at Belfast’s Shine, the spark and subsequent friendship was immediate. With the links now set in place, it was only a matter of time before the trio’s creative chemistry would manifest musically.

‘Space Date’ was conceived organically and birthed quickly. Propelled by Green Velvet’s trademark vocal hypnotism, the triumvirate combine to craft a pumping intergalactic slice of techno laced in melody that’s highlighted sets by Beyer at Awakenings, Ushuaia and also EDC Vegas when Green Velvet dropped it to a raucous response. The track is complimented by ‘Rome Future’, the product of a year-long series of productions between Beyer and Giordani. Deftly combining crisp drum work, catchy vocal effects and a powerful bassline melody that gives the track an almighty kick, it will be familiar to many who’ve followed their sets over recent months.

Oscar L dishes up his third Truesoul release in two years, establishing himself as one of the label’s most reliable contributors. 

The Spaniard last appeared on Truesoul in May ‘18, dropping a trio of inspired rollers that fitted the budding summer season like a dream. With festival season and Ibiza in full swing, his return is perfectly timed.

His ‘Vertigo’ EP is his strongest release yet for the imprint, with a triumvirate of cuts showcasing his evolving skills as a producer. ‘Unique’ fizzes with energetic verve as an undulating synth line builds excitement, alongside a vocal and a foundation of punchy beats. ‘Vertigo’ is a deeper, tribal house triumph, expertly displaying Oscar’s flair for arranging complex drum sequences. ‘Exodo’ is the sleeker, more bass-driven accompaniment, perfect for late night moments.
