"GORGE.IN has completed its 10th anniversary compilation "GORGE OUT "HERE" 2022". The total number of tracks is 45, and the total time is over 2 hours and 40 minutes. A terrifying adventure of madness is enclosed here.

This monster compilation proves it. The bootists (as the artists who create gorges are called) came from 20 regions across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, and from abroad, including Germany, the U.S., Argentina, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Nepal, and many other countries. Gorge is a mix of gorges from every region of the world, a music that can be found anywhere in the world and nowhere else in the world.

The backgrounds of the participants are diverse. Techno, Dubstep, Hip-hop, Ondo, GQOM, Rock, Noise, Punk ・・・・. All kinds of genres coexist here, swallowed up on the extremely open and vast wildness of Gorge music.

You may be asking, "Is this real?" Despite being active since the early days of Gorge, the recordings include bootists DJ Nanga, MVVM, and others whose existence is in doubt. George Jukemura is deceased, and his sound files came to us by fax. "Isn't this fictional?" I would like to answer, "The truth is that music exists here". The existence of this 45-tracks of awesome vibration is unquestionably real. What other information do we need?

Gorge's last ten years have been "embryo". With this album, Gorge's true story has finally begun to unfold. What comes next? Please listen to this album and look forward to it.

"Can mankind hear the mountains?

The GORGE.IN compilation album "I hear a new moutain" is an attempt to answer this question.

Sound designer Twoth (Shinichi Sudha) has taken sounds from the mountains and brought them down to the earth, and 38 artists have used their human intelligence and wildness to the fullest to depict "mountains" in the waves of sound. The artists came from all over Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, as well as from the United States, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, and other countries around the world.

For this remix Mokotron + my pūoro were placed 2gether to create a karanga-type effect - imagining Hinenuitepō welcoming us + also tangi 
I chose to use wheua rhythms to link to moko kauae, and blown kota to link to muka making/raranga - which we got from Rarohenga 
I tried to use the rototoms and kōhatu to 'open' the black 'space' more, alongside the drop of the kick

Rohan has such an incred ear for tonality, and Steve's dynamic percwork always inspire me every time I see them play ~ they're a duo that create a lot of depth 
I wanted to reflect their wash of sound in the play of light and darkness of kokomea (sunset glow) 🌅shining darkness🖤

And so perf to have Pennie Black on the art, very humbled to create light-darkness alongside the Goth Queen who knows it better than any 🖤🌅
