The committee “Justice pour Sourour” and the Pacifique Records music platform is launching a series of compilations to raise awareness on the fight against police violence and collect funds to ensure justice for Sourour: beloved sister, mother, daughter, and friend, who died in a police station in Brussels on January 12, 2023. For this first volume we’re bringing together friends and allies: artists of the experimental and bass music scene, each presenting a track.   The fight we’re waging is relentless, we need to keep everyone’s attention so that the struggle doesn’t lose momentum, so that even more people feel concerned and join us, and so that similar violence can never happen again. We want to believe in a united, supportive and politicised music scene. As artists, musicians and cultural actors, and with your support, we can play a precious role in this fight.

Cassius Select - Slight

The final katharsis release of 2024 is the 26-track compilation “Physical Force” featuring a wide range of affiliated artists from both the international and local Copenhagen electronic music scene. As the title hints, Physical Force delves into the visceral, bodily aspects of music, inviting its contributors to explore the theme of movement as a central element in their compositions. Each artist was encouraged to focus on rhythm, groove, energy, and the physicality of sound, which resulted in drum-heavy release from start to finish. While there is a consistent emphasis on rhythm and a bodily connection to the music, the tracks vary widely in style and sonic texture, ranging from big melodic anthems, gritty experimental techno, heavy jungle bangers, and beyond.

Gavnlig - Need U

Sumac presents Marakame, a 7 track album available in digital and vinyl formats including remixes by Siete Catorce and Cassius Select. "Marakame" or “mara'akame" means "who knows" or "who sees" in Huichol, an indigenous language of Mexico. Marakame also refers to shamans, who are considered intermediaries between the human and spiritual worlds. Working with these themes, places and histories, Viiaan has crafted a series of tracks exploring memory, grieving and ritual.

After 5 standout releases, including debuts from many fresh faces to the left-of-field underground scene, Plasma Sources presents its inaugural compilation: Multi-Source. It brings together the current label family and a slew of other artists operating on the cutting- edge of dance floor electronics for a multi-genre, sound design heavy, wild ride. In turn, the label takes aim at establishing itself as one of the most exciting imprints in the experimental club scene.
From the 90BPM cinematic, Lorn-esque sludge of newcomer Guide’s ‘Gemological’ to the crisp staccato transients and negative space of Ziyiz’s ‘Plastic Sentiments’, each track adheres to one of the guiding principles that the label has employed so effectively to curate it’s platform, irrespective of tempo: a love for sci-fi aesthetics and a desire to transpose these into sonic equivalents.

Plasma Sources has always prided itself on delicately balancing dark and light, release to release. On Multi-Source, this broad spectrum is in full vision. Reinartz offers up dubbed- out, IDM-esque desolation on ‘Action Bias’, whilst Stolen Velour’s ‘Suigetsu’ brings a bright playfulness - high-pitched vocal cuts marry pulsating, organic beats which sound like if Untold’s Hemlock output got a 2024 facelift. Some tracks, like Prior Self’s brooding yet fidgety ‘Turn Out’ and Klahrk & Atrice’s flange-fuelled ‘You’ve Changed’ occupy the centre of this continuum with their takes on high-tempo techno-influenced mutations.

The full label family comes back to join in on the fun. HYPNA and NIQH team up on a collaboration which perfectly unites their sounds under a 4-bar bass-heavy roller laden with noise. NIQH offers up their own track, exploring crystalline club structures on ‘Pressure’. unearth’s cinematic, wasteland-ridden sound is in clear focus on ‘Safe Tread’ and Beton Brut’s signature grime-concrète comes through loud and clear on ‘WWW’.

Cortical offer up ‘Hammer’, a continuation of their relentless avant-techno manifesto established by their debut, whilst J-Shadow rounds things off with a space-age jungle- exploration on ‘X-38'.
The juxtaposition of dark and light. The delicate balancing of experimentalism and dance floor sensibilities. The interweaving of sci-fi and biologically-infused sound design. These are the key aesthetics with which Plasma Sources has approached its output ever since release no.1.
Multi-Source acts as a confirmation of this manifesto as it looks forward to 2025 and its future as a key player in the experimental club scene.

Pressure

We are very excited to welcome scud to All Centre for his debut solo release. The Essex-born, London-based DJ, producer and co-head-honcho of 3 Swords Republic makes his mark with two tracks of tripped-out dancefloor chaos.

The title track brings us into a heady atmosphere with a spaced-out drone, machinic fx and clipped percussion. Crashing breaks give way to heavy subweight, a glitched vocal hook and a modulating bassline - straddling the line between DnB energy and a heads-down low tempo feel.

On the flip, etos_atos adopts a dancehall-inspired groove which furiously swings with driving subs and nimble percussion. A siren-pitched, stuttering vocal warps over heavy, propulsive percussion, conjuring a chaotic sonic atmosphere anchored firmly to the floor by bass-heavy kicks.

Hip flesk is available across all digital platforms from June 20th.

Viiaan is a Mexican producer whose immersive polyrhythmic style manifested by carefully-crafted percussive tracks has secured her a place in the catalogues of respected labels worldwide like Woozy, WVWV or DJ Plead's SUMAC. Her latest output will, in turn, grace the upcoming compilation by Germany-based Colombian label RUTA where her deep track 'Aleatory' that intertwines processed vocals with bird songs will sit between other goodies produced by 	
Entrañas or Ranma Entero.

Obeka’s 'A World No More' - to be released on leading bass label YUKU - channels the weight of soundsystem culture and diasporic memory into an important sonic statement by blending distorted bass, fractured dub and industrial frameworks with Yoruba spiritual references to confront colonial legacies. Hassan Abou Alam is one of Egypt’s musical exports, steadily publishing his work since 2008 on diverse labels such as Naive, Banoffee Pies, Rhythm Section, Casa Voyager and more.

Since 2008, Hassan has been playing around with his gear, forging multiple live performances. A hard to pin down sound that utilizes analog and digital instruments, a form of organized chaos that he portrays with extreme finesse—his Boiler Room set last year is testament to his genre bending capabilities. Through Red Bull’s RBMA Abou Alam was given a chance to mingle musically with the ancient people of Luxor. The result? A phenomenal live performance in Cairo two years ago fusing traditional folklore with electronica, successfully pinning him as one of Egypt’s most versatile musicians.

His sound as a DJ is constantly evolving, springing to life through the crevices of house, breaks, noise, bass, grime, techno and more.
