It's been a year of change and evolution for Brian Cid. After starting off with his 'Be One' EP on Endangered, and further releases on Bar 25 and Infinite Depth, he's also moved to Berlin, and recently resumed touring after a self-imposed break. To close out 2021, Brian comes full circle with 'Time Is Liquid' and a return to his Endangered label.

Here is the background of the project from Brian's own words:

'Time is liquid and forever changing, adjusting & shaping itself to fulfill our deepest unconscious desires. Time gives us life, as water does, purifying our dusty karmic energy. I consider this project another chapter of the evolution of my sound. I believe that I slide into interesting territories never explored before. This EP reflects the manifestation of my deepest expression of self-empowerment. A very minimal musical approach, yet filling and grandiose. A true intergalactic flight.

My intention was to show a bit more of my rhythmic roots, in conjunction with my forward thinking approach in the world of sounds. I am playing with different possibilities of colors and shades going from subtle movement to intense distortion, from loops to chord progressions. Complex rhythms, patterns, and breaks that will pull you inside a blackhole, making sense to the underlying story of my curious mind.

For the first time I was conscious about adding subtle merengue rhythms played with the sounds of a traditional Dominican tambora, one of its most prestigious percussive instruments and one of deep impact. The very root of this island's rhythmic pattern. This idea can be clearly experienced in 'Nostalgia' and 'Bayahibe', which by the way, is named after one of the most beautiful tropical beaches on this planet, Playa Bayahibe. This is my way to honor the land that saw me flourish, giving me so much.

Sabo's record label, Sol Selectas embarks on its annual journey around the world with the 2023 edition of the imprint's Summer Sol compilation.
The eight edition collects organic tracks by artists that are from different parts of the world in a celebration of diversity and different cultures. Featuring music from Sol Selectas regulars such as Safar (FR), Hot Oasis, Sabo, Raidho and Guy Maayan, it also features music from numerous artists making their record label debut.
Although organic house is the genre the release orientates around, like the earth orbiting the sun, the release is filled with diversity, and includes genres ranging from Afro house to downtempo.
Fans of Sol Selectas know exactly what to expect from this highly revered compilation which gathers existing members of the record label's family and introduces them to the next generation of talent, as this release is often the gateway to future releases on Sabo's influential imprint.
Collectively, the artists who feature on this release have dropped individual tracks and remixes on other respected labels such as MoBlack Records, Pipe & Pochet, Sounds of Khemit, Bar 25 Music, 3000 Grad, Cafe De Anatolia and Akbal Music.
The release features music from countries such as Tunisia, Israel, Morocco, Poland, America and Iran. The artwork by Helia Jamali portrays the moment that we catch the light and the energetic rays of the sun activate our spirit through a divine connection.

Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Tash's Movement Limited welcomes Baya to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Brazil, Rômulo Brígido aka Baya has been crafting an emotive brand of electronic music from his Rio de Janeiro studio for the better part of a decade. A contribution to Sprout's popular 'Passion' series in 2019 would set the course for a steady rise across the next four calendar years, with stops on Armada, Sony Music, The Purr and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. His far-reaching sound has found favour with a wide assortment of top international DJs as well, with D-Nox, Lane8, and even David Guetta championing his music. With 2024 beginning with a well-received remix of 'Flying' by Jelly For The Babies, Plecta and Eleonora, Baya now adds Movement Limited to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled 'Ethereal'. The title selection 'Ethereal' sets the tone for the release with a strong rhythmic swing and charming musicality. Enchanting tones and emotive pads layer warm grooves and exotic percussion early on, in turn creating a superb club-effective mood. Lively rhythmic lines and shapeshifting arps work together in creating a smooth yet energy inducing cadence leading into an emotive break, perfectly setting up a rushy build and soaring finale. The release concludes with 'Guide the Way' which sits as an equally emotive counterpart to its predecessor. Warm key-changing basslines and punchy beats lay the foundation for clattering percussion and clustered melodies, making for a supremely captivating start. Deconstructed vocals and panning sonics build and percolate across the first movement, before the vocal comes to full fruition across a heartwarming break to round out the release on a feel good note.
