At the end of 2023, family, friends, and the global music community experienced a profound loss through the untimely passing of Vano Chilkhladze, known as experimental composer/producer Sonic Junkie. In his honor, we have created a commemorative album entitled Boundless: A Tribute to Sonic Junkie. Featuring 16 previously unreleased tracks from artists including Rob Clouth, Kilowatts, A Path Untold, Lunecell, Aligning Minds, Pathwey, K-Rai, Jack Lion, Seeded Vision, Asan, A2K, Homospouses, Nuci Nebieridze, and Tamo Nasidze, this compilation is an homage to Vano’s eclectic taste and fearless experimentation.
It was be released on Bandcamp on May 10th, with proceeds going toward the facilitation of Sonic Junkie Recording Studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Premiere: Âsan- Beychen [ÂSAN-01]

We’re really excited to share a premiere with you from a close friend of Delayed, someone we know and love - Hassan Siddiqui, or Âsan as he is known musically. Some of you may remember that he recorded the most beautiful & immersive 4 hour journey for us just over a year ago. He has accompanied us at our Delayed getaways in the Catskills & I actually first connected with him there in that same place in the forest, almost 2 years ago. Before he & I met, he had released his debut EP ‘GULP/GAME’ as the first on his own Cellar Door, an imprint which has since blossomed into a catalog of 12 releases from talented artists as well as a mix series & premiere platform. Since then, it has been a joy to watch Âsan develop & grow as an artist.  

From afar, Âsan may appear to be in hibernation but he has in fact been meticulously crafting his sound in the shadows with an incredible attention to detail. More than 2 years after his first solo release, he returns to the public eye with a new collection of music, a 4-track EP called ‘Beychen’. In Âsan’s native tongue of Urdu, this word means ‘restlesss’ or ‘uneasy’, words that are poignantly analogous to the mood & tone of the tracks on the release. ’Bass Bin’ is a track that materialized out of Âsan’s time experimenting with the Buchla Easel. “Except for the kick and clap. Everything in the track is from that one synth. I always try to work with as few instruments and sounds as possible,” he said when I asked about the production process behind the track. “If I can find myself lost & immersed in the end result, I think the listener can too.” He expresses a contemplative, minimalistic approach to techno that is inherent to his production process - filling the space with very few elements & focusing on reusing existing sounds rather than adding more to the canvas. His low end sound choices & mixing approach give his music a very distinct sound & feel. There is this deep thump but at the same time it has a feathery bounce. ”The idea behind the track was to work with bass-heavy elements. I absolutely love working with bass-forward music but a lot of the time, bass-heavy elements don’t translate on huge sound systems where subs are already extenuated. I wanted the grooves to be wall-shaking & the kick to be a punch in the gut.” The result of this process & thinking can be heard below. We’re looking forward to watching our friend Âsan continue his artistic journey.

‘Beychen’, the 4-track, 140 gram vinyl, will be available April 1st on Âsan’s own Bandcamp & stocked at record shops worldwide.

PREMIERE: Âsan - Bass Bin

Every year, the Delayed family invites its dear friends to a weekend getaway nestled in the lush green mountains of Catskill NY. The Barn has always been a very special place and I've met some of my closest friends and collaborates here. Feel very lucky to be a part of such an amazing group of people. And since this spring we are skipping our bi annual trip(busy life) to the mountain, I could not help but share this recording.

Âsan is back on home ground with a recording from this year’s annual upstate gathering hosted by the @itsdelayed crew. It’s his third appearance on the Cellar Door podcast and his second set from the place we’ve all come to know as The Barn. As a friend once said, “go to the barn and forget everything,” and that couldn’t ring truer.

Recorded live, this mix captures Âsan closing out Friday night after an incredible set from a dear friend and the man behind "Sundays For.." series @huedj. The energy carried deep into the night, blending warmth, tension, and release in equal measure — a journey that felt both spontaneous and familiar. It's an evolving snapshot of a moment shared under those familiar wooden beams with some of the most amazing people this place brings together.

"This mix is really a reflection of getting back on the decks. I don’t always get as much time as I’d like to play at home, but I’m constantly listening to music — thinking about what the next mix might feel like. Would it be a peak-time set, something more obscure, or maybe a bit nostalgic? So when a request comes in, I usually already have a rough idea of the direction I want to take.
Recently I came across a few tracks I hadn’t played in a very long time. Some old favorites, some newer finds, a few from friends, and a couple of my own. Putting it all together naturally turned into a two-hour journey.
I’m really grateful for the chance to share it. Hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting it together."

Premiere: Âsan - Disambiguate [ÂSAN02]

Âsan’s second EP Go Nuclear is an eruption. This four-track follow-up stands as the aftermath — the exhale after prolonged internal pressure.

Side A unfolds inward. Two tracks built for the mind — hypnotic, immersive, almost dissociative in their pull. The opening piece, Picktooth, is a slow-burning ascent. It builds in increments — pressure accumulating in cycles.The impact feels intangible rather than physical. Gradual pressure and tension that keeps rising, rhythm locking you into a state that feels almost uncomfortable, but controlled.

The title track, “Go Nuclear”, channels a different kind of intensity. The phrase was borrowed from a bold journalistic call to “Go Nuclear” in response to the fractured global politics — a need for decisive, uncompromising action from people. The track is heavy, confrontational, and unapologetic. It carries the psychological weight of irreversible decisions — evoking the complex emotional aftermath of historical acts like the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There is force and dominance in its structure, but also an undercurrent of unease — relief entangled with consequence.

Side B shifts the energy outward. Here the focus is groove and impact. The last two tracks are built for presence — rhythm-forward, stripped back, arranged carefully for maximum weight on a dance-floor. After the internal density of Side A, this feels physical. Direct!

If Beychen was about creative unrest, Go Nuclear is about release — not peaceful resolution, but relief earned through endurance.
