Continuing the theme of community collaboration sparked by Hodge and Simo Cell’s recent 12”, Livity Sound presents the first joint works by Azu Tiwaline and Al Wootton. While they come from distinct settings (Azu in the Tunisian desert, Al in London’s urban sprawl), their music shares a similar affinity for intricate percussion and dub-informed space.
The four tracks on LIVITY052 deal in a variety of rhythms and tempos, veering from the propulsive intensity of ‘Blue Dub’ to the sparse, skipping 2-step framework of ‘Light Transmission’. Azu and Al’s refined, detailed approach blurs the lines between electronic sound design and earthy sonics, resulting in dynamic drum tracks loaded with weighty atmospherics and unrelenting tension.

Following the resounding success of their collaborative EP 'Fluids in Motion' released last June on @livity-sound, @azu-tiwaline and @forest-drive-west are once again joining forces to deliver an auditory experience that transcends the ordinary. This partnership, which has already captivated the electronic music community, is set to reach new heights as the two artists blend their unique styles.

Azu Tiwaline, known for her deep, meditative soundscapes that draw from the rich musical traditions of the Sahara, and Forest Drive West, a producer whose work is characterized by its intricate rhythms and immersive textures, have proven to be a perfect match. Their previous collaboration was praised for its ability to seamlessly merge the organic with the synthetic, creating tracks that are both grounded in nature and forward-thinking in their approach to techno and bass music.

Forest Drive West's reinterpretation of "Night In Palmtree" takes us deep into the palm grove for a night inhabited by spirits for a tribal and hypnotic techno banger.

The track is a testament to the duo's ability to create music that is not only meant to be heard but to be felt deeply. It's a true exploration of the unknown, a journey that takes you far beyond the dancefloor and into a realm where time and space seem to dissolve. The pulsating beats and atmospheric layers draw you in, wrapping you in a cocoon of sound that is both tribal and otherworldly.

Azu Tiwaline and Kangding Ray share the same love and talent for dub techno. When she contacted him to remix a track from her album, Kangding Ray was free to choose the track. He immediately chose Reptilian Waves and transformed it into a more dubby and dancefloor version for dub techno lovers the world over.
