It’s been a stacked year of strong releases from Moments In Time. Based in Manchester, it has shown its commitment to signing new exciting local talent, as well as those more established names, with artists including Hadone and Blicz.
For the last release of the year, Rudosa welcomes Irish talent Alt8 with a heart racing 4 track release, including a remix from the label boss himself.

Evan, aka Alt8 has had successful releases with a collaboration track on Kneaded Pains, Sara Landry remixing his track ‘Transcend’ on T-Minus Records and most recently a standout remix for Rebekah on her Elements Records imprint. His sets blend dark and gritty techno with industrial drums and early 90s rave influences.

Opening with the title track, ‘Hope In Darkness’ explosive industrial beats pound the senses from the off. Gargantuan reese bass and a catchy melodic hook mid-way make for a powerful peak time cut.

Valhalla Calling’ powers forward with tough drums and scattergun percussions before dropping into a haunting melodic hook. Eerie sub-harmonics and a gnarly bass in the break add drama before the beat drops and carnage ensues. On remix duties, Rudosa does his best to dirty up the beats and adds an even more twisted hook for the ultimate e-moment.

Finally, ‘Concrete Walls’ sees Mr Marshall flex his funky techno muscles. Vocal asides syncopate against icy stabs and a rumbling industrial beat. Thin moody pads provide the perfect melodic juxtaposition as the dancefloor reaches fever pitch.

Random Sequence, one of the upcoming talents from Poland makes his debut on Imminent Records for our 9th release.

Since the last years he has been working hard and establishing his name on the Poland Scene and delivering music on several labels.

To define his music we must say it is sharp, clean, heavy and absolutely nasty on the basslines, this is probably the main element of his style.

For us, Random Sequence delivered a 4 tracker release, a journey through his mindset
that was remixed by Belgium legend Wanton and Imminent resident Række.

Thursday's premiere comes from a producer no stranger to the Irish scene, boasting a prolific 12 months of releases and European club shows, Alt8, as he drops his latest work on @dyenmusic's Reckless Records imprint.

It’s been a steady rise for the young Waterford producer, from playing his hometown clubs and parties, to having his music supported by some of the biggest DJs on the planet.

Drawing tangible inspiration from the early 2000s hard techno and groove hiatus, Evan Marshall’s artistry continues to blossom, as the DJ is fast becoming a regular on the DJ circuit, plus one of the most prolific releaser of tunes in the whole country. If you don’t hear an Alt8 track on your night out, you’re probably going to the wrong parties.

For Alt8's next releases, the Waterford native teams up with Parisian DJ and producer @blicz, as the pair collaborate to release their 'West Coast Love' EP, on Dyen's Dutch label, Reckless. 

The EP consists of 2 collaborations and 2 originals and today we premiere an original from Alt8, entitled 'Trophy Loop', which is a fast paced and relentless peak time destroyer, already doing damage on systems all over Europe.

Drawing concrete inspiration from the hard techno & groove of the early 2000's, Alt8's artistic direction continues to blossom overt time. Inspired by past, fused with today.

Having exposed himself to electronic music at barely 10 years old by ‘borrowing’ his older brother’s discs, a young Alt8 (as he would later become known) was set onto the musical pathway at the conclusion of his formative years. After witnessing his older brother performing at an event just a few years later, he began cutting his teeth playing a mixture of hip hop & dance music throughout Ireland.

His taste for a myriad of genres mean that his DJing stylings incorporate multiple sectors of music, mixing between ‘moments’ as opposed to just ‘music’. On a given day, anyone who will see him perform can expect a collection of industrial, groove, rave or big melodies - all fused with distinct hard techno drums to create a uniquely memorable atmosphere. It goes without saying that Alt8 is a representation of musical diversity - and it’s something that definitively sets him apart from those around him.

Whilst DJing remained a distinct passion of his, he eventually began to make his own productions in 2019 following an awakening to the vibrancy of the techno genre. The respective sounds of the harder shades of Techno can be felt in an Alt8 production, particularly in the drum sequences he devises. That isn’t to say that melodies are left out in the cold; rather they are delicately paired with the harder, industrial elements in certain tracks - as can be seen most prominently on his ‘Hope in Darkness’ EP on Manchester’s ‘Moments In Time’ imprint that reached #1 on Beatport’s hard techno chart.

With many releases to his name already, some key highlights include his debut EP in 2020 on T-Minus Records (featuring a remix from Sara Landry), a remix he produced for techno titan Rebekah that was played by some of the scene’s most respected names, and his ‘Nineninefour’ track that released on Belgium’s ‘Rave Alert’.

It was however his marked growth in 2021 that really has elevated Alt8 to the next stage of his career; a year that culminated in him releasing ‘Mind Control’ on ‘Reckless’ label. The high-octane, groovy thumper that whilst being a bit different to his usual productions, garnered the respect and support of the industry heavyweights. Prior to it being formally released, Very select DJs who were sent the track were exhibiting it across Europe and then the videos began to emerge online - unsurprisingly, the ID requests were overwhelming to the point that it simply had to be released.

Having utilised his recent years to fine tune his talents as both a producer and a DJ, it’s quite clear to those who know Alt8 that he’s firmly headed in the right direction as an artist. For those who haven’t yet gotten to know him, they certainly will soon.
