The third Realm Of Consciousness compilation on Tale Of Us’ Afterlife Recordings is the label’s most complete statement so far.

The four-vinyl opus opens with Tale Of Us’ now anthemic ‘Nova’, a high-impact and well-loved staple of their sets this year. Agents Of Time continue with the percussive rattle of ‘Paradigm’, before the first released collaboration between luminaries Recondite and Henrik Schwarz shines with understated melody.

Amongst Mind Against’s eerie masterpiece ‘Portal’ and impressive first appearances on Afterlife from Scuba (as SCB) and Steve Rachmad (as Sterac) are ethereal contributions from Fideles, Ovend and Øostil. UK techno veteran Edit Select channels the darker, hypnotic spirit of Afterlife with ‘Phase In’, setting up the sprawling, 14-minute epic from Luigi Tozzi and Antonio Ruscito.

To begin the compilation’s fourth disc, Konstantin Sibold & Kosme’s ‘Cyclone’ lifts the tone, leading into a more introspective sound from Hunter/Game on ‘Changing Weather’. Upcoming German talent Kevin De Vries follows with his infectious cut ‘Mágoa’ and Tone Depth ends the odyssey in mesmerising style with ‘Ibn Sina’.

Prolific duo Pig & Dan land back on Cocoon Recordings, which is familiar territory having had their debut single released on Sven Väth's imprint in 2001. Here they deliver a pair of techno ballads in their 'Reset Your Bassline' EP, which features the driving, dreamy and emotive techno cut ‘Lost Another Angel’.

Dan describes the vision behind the melodic arrangement: “It’s all about hand played synth parts, twisted melodic riffs and a hypnotic yet groovy bassline.”

The 'Reset Your Bassline' EP is out November 30.

Now Kölsch transform's the original into a euphoric anthem, as he highlights melancholic chords that build in intensity before dramatic string sequences set in. Michael Hooker has been a revered name in the worlds of techno and melodic house for quite some time. The UK-bred, US-based DJ, producer, and label owner is known for his tasteful blend of heavy rhythms and catchy melodic sequences which have seen releases on labels like Desert Hearts Black, Dear Deer, Suah, and his own Re:Sound Music. Michael makes his debut on Yoshitoshi with the Warning EP, featuring two unique originals and a stunning remix from progressive house mainstay Quivver.

'Warning' is the kind of hard and heavy techno that seems to build forever, its rising leads and soaring sounds creating a sonic tornado of tension before unleashing flurries of sirens and pounding drums. As Nigel Tufnel might say, this one 'goes to 11.'

'Thoughts of You' is more on the hypnotic side of things, with a slower tempo and a syncopated vocal sample that morphs and evolves into all manner of robotic forms. Lush pads and exotic percussion fill out the space creating an atmospheric vibe that still rolls and moves like proper techno.

Quivver's remix of 'Thoughts of You' takes the track in a darker, cinematic direction, with massive, modulating synth stabs and a heavy groove. It's trademark Quivver, and the veteran producer's chops are on full display with his razor-sharp focus to detail. The remix rounds out this package with a refreshing and progressive mix.

For "Euphrates" we asked an artist we already wanted to add to our roster for some time: Aaron Suiss, from Washington DC, but now currently residing in Thailand. Aaron Suiss describes his style of music as Progressive Melodic House/Techno. Aaron is currently working as the A&R & Label Manager of Outta Limits Recordings, one of the leading Progressive House labels around and the imprint of Stan Kolev & Matan Caspi. Next to his output on Outta Limits he also has released on Revolt, Harabe & O'Tawa. For this remix Aaron teams up with Q.U.A.K.E aka Netanel Asraf from Israel.

The second remix of "Euphrates" is made by Riccardo LeBron aka Anakim (pronounce as ana-keem), a Los Angeles-based DJ/producer who describes his music as "Intergalactic Underground Sounds". He perfected his sound at the esteemed Icon Collective Music Production School resulting in a dark and mysterious sonic style that is both melodically rich and delightfully sinister. Releases on top labels such as EIN2, ICONYC, mau5trap, Desert Hearts Black, Krafted Underground, Dear Deer,... and nominated by DJ Mag as "Artist To Watch" in 2019 and by Billboard Dance as "Emerging Artist You Should Know" this year, says it all.

And last but not least the EP is completed with a remix of "Tigris" by Sarcasmo. Sarcasmo is a new project, a new idea, from the Spanish producer/DJ Alvaro Fuentes, established in London, sharing his more than 10 years of experience and in which after researching about different styles brings his darkest side: techno, deep and minimal influences fused with dark vibes is what you can find in most of his energetic productions, resuling in releases on labels such as Steyoyoke, Us & Them, KDB, Wood, Cinematique, Qilla,..."
