Samantha Togni presents a hard-hitting new EP on Brvtalist Sound Recordings, the in-house label of Berlin-based, globally renowned platform, brand and DJ, The Brvtalist. Accompanied by a biting remix from rising star Valerie Ace, the project also showcases futuristic 3D visuals created by visual artist Jose Vigers.

The tracks encompass precious elements characteristic of Samantha's work, including gritty basslines, raw vocal stabs, acid lines, and roaring kicks. Samantha describes the EP, stating,"While writing these tracks, I experienced a constant surge of ambivalent emotions within me—spooky yet uplifting, creepy yet joyful, shadowy yet ecstatic. Confessions Of A Mask unveils a hidden meaning and a distorted perspective on a world driven by machines, urging us to redefine our perception of emotions."

Originally from Italy and now based in London, Samantha Togni has become a central figure in the city's underground scene. Samantha is also the founder of Boudica, a platform that aims to give visibility to trans+, non-binary, and female individuals in music. Samantha's sound is constantly evolving, with recent releases on leading labels such as Voxnox, Noise Manifesto, and Stay Up Forever.

The EP kicks off with "Paranoia Will Destroy Ya," immersing the listener in an abyss of hypnotic grooves and vocal stabs that demand attention. Following that, "Confessions Of A Mask" encapsulates the essence of the project with its robotic and futuristic ambiance. The track begins with a storm of bass stabs that swiftly transform into a restless march.

"Ready To Be Unplugged" races forward on the energetic beat of pounding drums, eventually exploding into an explosive acid line. The bouncy vocals guarantee a full-blown action on the dance floor. Valerie Ace masterfully reimagines "Confessions Of A Mask," maintaining the essence of the song while introducing tense rhythms and an air of mystery—hallmarks of the artist.

Forging acclaim for their fiercely unrelenting sound production, New Frames are no stranger to shattering the parameters and caveats within electronic music with their masterfully curated approach to chaos. The collaborative project of Berlin-based David Frisch and Mathis Mootz (aka The Panacea) sees the duo engineer their hybridised palette of maximalist yet modular techno music in both their DJ and live sets. Pulling influence directly from dance floors both contemporary and from raving’s genesis, New Frames’ all encompassing signature of ferociously layered sonic weaponry promises to leave no stragglers in their wake.

Presenting their debut double long player ‘Scherben’ – the body of work demonstrates the pair’s eclectic merging of cataclysmic pure and raw techno, ominous vocals and distorted sound design across the eight track LP. Nimble mixing interbreeds New Frames’ quintessential cacophony of instrumentation, laminated with bombastic drum-beats and carnal vigour. Additionally with appearances from Eva Vuillemin, fellow BITE Records protagonist Omon Breaker as well as label co-founder Phase Fatale, the album comes as a natural progression following two previous EP releases on BITE as well as featuring on the labels fifth anniversary compilation record ‘Shredding Skin’ .

Furthering the duo’s pursuit of polarity within their melodic terrain, the album follows the structural composition of a mixtape, robust in its opening, experimental yet focused, unpredictable yet precise. Rhythmic tracks flesh out the hardware essence of the LP with the pair’s signature hypnotic and commanding vocals ensuring New Frames’ dancefloor destroyer warranty.

Previously gracing lineups for venues including Berghain, Khidi, Tresor and Distillery,  the devastating floor-fillers of Scherben personify rave dance floors past and present directly from the cold walls of the underground scene the pair have inhabited for collective decades. The LP projects New Frames’ tried-and-tested understanding and execution of nuanced production interchangeable from the dancefloor or for intense home-listening.
