Arriving fresh from an impressive twelve months with releases via the likes of Token Records alongside his notable self-production only mixes, Italian DJ and producer Alarico continues to grow as a talent on the rise within techno. Combining nuances from across the genre to shape his own fast-paced and raw yet soulful sound, the Milan- based talent hasn’t slowed down since launching the alias in 2019. Having featured on the label’s VA ‘Federation Of Rythm I’ earlier this year, he now returns to SHDW and Obscure Shape’s blossoming Mutual Rytm imprint for his first EP on the label - delivering eight cuts across both digital and vinyl for ‘Boya’.
Kicking things off with the rugged and loopy ‘AE86’, Alarico quickly gets to work fusing driving grooves with slick vocal interjections, while title cut ‘Boya’ veers into slightly more raw and metallic territories guided by snappy claps and resounding kicks. ‘Killa Cut’ brings the funk on the B-side as soulful vocals ebb and glow amongst the mix, with ‘Lost In Time’ offering up pulsing bass beneath ethereal vocals, sweeping melodies and lively hats. The vinyl package is wrapped up by ‘The Ballad of Lisa’, with the infectious bleeping topline leading off-kilter clangs, slightly offsetting the track’s tight core groove. 
With three bonus tracks on the digital package, the Italian continues to bring the heat with ‘God Bless Hip Hop’ providing yet more punchy, skipping rhythms accented by rich chords. ‘Cigarettes After Sex’ carries a more manic and chaotic arrangement yet still manages to hold the track together amongst murky flutters, before closing the show via ‘The Rush Hour’ to deliver warping, arpeggiated basslines and a constant battle of tension and release.

SHDW & Obscure Shape and their “Mutual Rytm" imprint celebrating a first year anniversary with an outstanding 3 vinyls pack as their tenth release to date and the second instalment of their "Federation of Rytm" compilation series.

Being the buzzing German producers most prestigious project to date, their musical philosophy of "modern old school techno", has been backed up by some of their favorite artists out there, from well-established to new upcoming producers, all contributing their music to take part in one of the most highlighted releases of the new year. The compilation features 22 tracks: 18 cuts spread over 3 vinyls covered with the label's neat artwork signature, and 4 digital bonus tracks. For Frenzy’s 5th installment, we’ll take the fusion of the past and the present even further. We present you a 6-track EP by Swedish DJ and producer ‘The Miller’, who was amongst the Nordic wave of early 2000s techno pioneers like Cari Lekebusch, Adam Beyer, and Joel Mull. Coming from an era where rave and nightlife escapism were blooming, The Miller possesses a vast backlog of old-school productions that embody the true Frenzy sound. We invited him to compile an EP with old and new material, accompanied by remixes from the up-and-coming generation to truly intertwine generations of dancefloor exquisiteness. Allow yourself to surpass the linear alignment of time within the next collision of decades on Frenzy 005. It’s time to dance.

Starting out slow but steady on the A side, ‘Kartong’ gradually builds up the pressure with a playful mix of reversed phrases and thoughtful alignment of pitch levels. Tension transforms into motion as ‘Apex’ kicks in with big airy basslines and exotic drum elements that keep the early-day spirit alive. To complete the A-side, Stuttgart-based Rove Ranger presents a dub-influenced remix of Apex, accelerating the 00s story straight into the next decade. On the flip side, we go back to the old days as ‘Complied’ grabs hold of hips and minds with catchy repetition and a straightforward bassline. The Miller got us spellbound as ‘Gate’ follows up with a stripped-down steamy groover. To end the journey in full force, a powerful remix of Gate by the Greek-based ANNĒ is delivered, converting stripped down into the contrary for those big-room dancefloor moments.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Scan 7' gem on 'Tresor Records'.

Patience is a virtue well-rewarded in techno; finding the right groove to build on then holding your nerve long enough to pay off the wait at the optimum moment is a much more skillful endeavour than it would seem for such a minimalistic style.
And few display this talent better than Detroit originals Scan 7.

Part of the hallowed Underground Resistance family, Scan 7 first broke out in the mid- 90s with a series of jacking machine funk 12”s that showcased their savvy for self- control - a faculty they have demonstrated in releases year-on-year since.

Highlighting this continuous font of vitality, Tresor records has returned to the source and is proud to announce the reissue of Scan 7’s debut LP, Dark Territory.

First unleashed on the label in 1996, the album has been remastered from the original DATs by Mike Grinser, augmenting already powerful tracks such as the snake-like, tea- sing Unusual Channel (mixed by the master Blake Baxter), and the harder-edged VII resulting in music that will, without doubt, provoke an enhanced response when the pressure is finally released.

Repressed on vinyl with (slightly) updated artwork, these tracks still sound like a blueprint for the future, testament to the prescience and assurance Scan 7’s leader, Trackmaster Lou, clearly had when writing “I hope you enjoy my records in the phuture to come” in the sleeve notes nearly 30 years ago.
