Premiere: Specific Objects - Echo Lawrence [NORDLTD004]

After an impressive two decades career, Croatian techno scene powerhouse Insolate has released her debut album on her label Out of Place.

The album, titled "Order is Chaos," is coming out as a double vinyl and contains 10 tracks with extremely interesting collaborations, one of which is a collaboration with American-born and Berlin-based Matrixxman.  

Their collab track “Monolith” stands out from the others as being the perfect blend of their authentic styles: dark, moody and trippy repetitive techno. However, this album goes deeper than just a straight-forward techno album and you can hear that even after you listen to it for the first time. Transdimensional vocals blended in the atmospheric pads and coated with broken techno beats in a collaboration with Croatian singer Sara Renar is something we still haven’t had a chance to hear from Insolate. 

"Order is Chaos" sways and shudders from floor-obliterating bangers like acid-drenched "Circulation" to "Lust" with her trademark sound, and of course our premiere for today, the “homage track” ReWerk--a remake of the old track "Werk," she released back in 2016 on legendary Deeply Rooted.

While we watched the current events unfold in the USA, we have been feeling pretty helpless, we wanted to speak sooner but we felt we wanted to take action rather than adding more words. We are sickened by the way individuals have lost their lives over the years at the hand of disgusting police brutality, most recently with George Floyd. But this all stems from systematic racism that generations have suffered. Some of us can’t really begin to know the true extent of how this has impacted millions of human beings over hundreds of years and while we know this may not amount to a huge donation... We believe that now is the time for change, we want to make a move towards this, even if it simply helps raise more awareness amongst our own circles.

Prodigal Son artists & friends have worked together over the past few days to make a compilation of which all proceeds will be donated to NAACP.org who are leading the fight for change in the United States, we know this is a global issue and will like to support everywhere but we have to focus on one movement at a time. We would like to thank Bandcamp for highlighting this as an important organisation to direct the funding to, as they recently announced plans to make considerable donations.

Please purchase if you can, pay at least £10 for 13 tracks or pay more if you feel you can. We will donate all the proceeds to the NAACP fight against racial based discrimination and their work to bring reform to the criminal justice system in the USA.

Glasgow based b.mod drops his 2nd release on AFR with a gut buster of raw, hardware based Techno. Down To Us features three optimally produced, rough and ready originals and takes it up a notch with 2 killer remixes from Ike Dusk & E.L.I.A.S . 

b.mod has been on spirited form of late and this release sees him continue to forge his own sound through the medium of machines. Raw Uluz, Revolution & Shuttle don their own unique properties but remain with that singular tough, raw and hypnotic b.mod sound. 

With an already mighty discography, Ike Dusk drops a tripped out, stripped back and ominous version of Revolution. Rising star E.L.I.A.S completes the package in fine form as a crunching, tweekin’ rework of Shuttle closes the EP with some high energy.

Mild Fantasy is a new label from New York and its owner Elle Dee inaugurated the first EP with original tracks and collaborations with False Witness.

With an ear for darker sounds, the newest release is from Bazilian Projekt Gestalten who has released music on voxnox, KONFLKT and Advanced (Black), but is also a resident at Berlin’s Pornceptual club nights that has seen guests such as DVS1 and Freddy K.

The Lady Machine runs the up and coming Unterwegs imprint alongside Decka and for this DT:Premiere we selected her remix of “Wise People In Reverse” that has an industrial edge and stomping beat. Modular sparks and stabbing chords are met with deep metallic hits and an overall menacing feel that has been crafted for delivering dance floor devastation.
