Gleichzeitig bleiben viele schwerwiegende Probleme ungelöst, welche die positiven Seiten des Wandels stark verblassen lassen. Drängende Umweltprobleme wie Klimawandel und Biodiversitätsverlust spitzen sich zu, die soziale Ungleichheit wächst. Der Lobbyismus und „Spenden“ der Wirtschaft haben einen großen Einfluss auf die Entscheidungen der Politik, während das Wohlergehen der Bevölkerung und Umwelt häufig auf der Strecke bleibt. Politische Parteien, welche ihre Propaganda auf Angst, Hass und Unwahrheiten aufbauen, machen sich dies zunutze. Sie bekommen viel Zuspruch und treiben die Spaltung der Gesellschaft weiter voran. COVID-19 wirkt auf diese Entwicklungen wie ein Brandbeschleuniger und verdeutlicht die Schwachstellen unseres Systems. Nun ist es wichtiger denn je, dass wir uns gemeinsam gegen diese Spaltung stellen und uns entschlossen für ein weltoffenes, solidarisches und ökologisch nachhaltiges Miteinander einsetzen. Dazu brauchen wir das Mitwirken eines jeden Individuums – sich einfach raushalten, schweigen und zusehen kann keine Option sein.

We have achieved technical and medical progress, we are increasingly digitally connected and informed. At the same time many severe problems remain unsolved, which will most probably leave the positive changes way behind. Urgent environmental problems like climate change and biodiversity loss are getting worse day by day, as social inequality is growing constantly. The lobbyism and “donations” of the economic sphere have a huge influence on political decisions, whereas the wellbeing of people and nature seems to fall far behind. Political parties that build their propaganda on fear, hate and lies, know how to take advantage of that. They get more and more approval, whilst driving forward the division of society. COVID-19 affects these developments like a fire accelerant. Now it is more important than ever that we stand together against this division and strongly commit ourselves to an open-minded, solidary and ecologically sustainable togetherness of the whole society. Therefore we need the commitment of every individual – just staying out of this, being silent and just watching cannot be an option.

Clearing space, getting rid of clutter, and optimizing the flow of energies: These are the principles of Feng Shui, but it’s also a very precise description of the sound of Hatikwa. The producer from North Germany gained popularity for his minimalist approach towards Progressive Trance, an approach that might take different directions but that always proves to have compelling hypnotic powers.

Hatikwa is one of those artists who reached a career breakthrough via Social Media. It is 2009 when he plays his debut live act at Hamburg’s Lonely Forest Project, and this experience is such a rich source of inspiration that he creates a track and names it after that party. Once uploaded on YouTube, "Lonely Forest" spreads rapidly and within no time the name Hatikwa is on the lips and on the Facebook profiles of Progressive Trance fans all over the world. Working with the netlabel Multiplex Records at the time multiplies the viral distribution of his music. After releasing some single tracks and digital EPs he drops his debut album "Point of View" on Magical Sounds Records in 2013, a step that puts him even higher on the agenda – especially in the Progressive Trance hotspots Denmark, Germany and Switzerland where Hatikwa has a solid fanbase. 

In 2015, Hatikwa decided to stand on his own two feet completely - Xonica Records was born. Xonica Records was launched to open a dimension of sound that can't be achieved by any piece of studio equipment: Creative Freedom! Xonica Records is an autonomous platform for Hatikwa, a portal that enables him to keep up his truly eclectic and independent approach towards modern Trance music. In 2017, he created his second album "The Second Narration" and released it on his own label Xonica Records - a true milestone for him and his career. 

When it comes to production Hatikwa is extremely detail oriented. Sometimes it takes him months to finish a track because he’s just not quite satisfied with a single element. Like the music itself, this approach represents his signature style: Less is more, and quality surpasses quantity. Hatikwa knows exactly that a single sound can trigger the most profound emotions if it’s only in perfect tune, and if it only has enough space to unfold its unique vibration. Just like a spatial environment that has been designed in accordance with the priciples of Feng Shui, his sound creates an intense feeling of flowing harmony and effortless power – a highly energizing listening experience that can best be described as deeply psychedelic.
