Faulty (broken orbit) is an hour-long through-composed immersive audio work exploring  sonic idiosyncrasies of mic’ed surfaces and amplified quotidian objects — collected, invented, imagined or implied – activated into movement and then layered against a shifting, slowly settling field of electronic feedback and live-processed instruments.  The work is built via elaborate and precarious systems, in homage to inventor Rube Goldberg’s circuitous machines, which are also the inspiration for my self-designed  virtual (MAX-based)  sound processing instrument that has been my primary compositional and performance tool for the past 10 years. 

Faulty (broken orbit) was first commissioned by and exhibited as a site-configured 10-channel audio installation at Diapason gallery for sound in New York City, and was  later released on CD  (in stereo) by Important Records, the US-based sound art and experimental music. Since 2011, Faulty (broken orbit) has been presented in gallery and sound art spaces in NYC and throughout the US; VIctoria, Australia, and Hamburg, Germany.

For Trauma Grief Despair Volume I, which can be found at my bandcamp, I had a section composed that consisted of 87 layers of stereo fields all on top of each other at once. I am leaving it a mystery as to which section is that section, listen to the whole thing, you may find sounds cathartic and healing if you have a troubled mind, chances are that if you are following me, you probably do. So, pending full release in 2020, I will be 33 years old, my roman numeral III in my name plays a role in composing this, I will have completed 1,987 different 3'33" long tracks, 1987 being the year I was born, and titling the entire work Trauma Grief Despair Volume II. As a bonus to those 1,987 tracks, I will have extra tracks that feature all 1,987 tracks mixed down on top of each other into one monstrosity of a 3'33" long track, I will also have 333 spoken word + noise tracks to accompany all of this. All dealing with the things that trouble me most. Some renditions of favorite books of mine wherein the author is now dead, fitting the grief section of the title. And more surprises. A monstrosity for sure. I want to provide a ton of sounds for others dealing with trauma, grief, or despair, that will hopefully at least provide a little "comfort", "solace", "not so bad moments" . <3 <3 <3
