Haunted Dancehall is launching its podcast series, HD Series, and we're thrilled to welcome Phase O'Matic for the premiere. A young London-based producer and DJ who has been on our radar for a while now. 

Whether it's his notable appearances on Various Artists projects, recently released on labels like Non Stop Rhythm or No Tech Just Wax, or through his solo EPs that have found homes on labels such as L&T Recordings, Philoxenia, and even the iconic Libertine Records, Phase O'Matic delivers dark music at the crossroads of techno and rock in its EBM/industrial facet. 
A sound that could have resonated just as well at a Belgian warehouse party in the '90s as on any open-minded contemporary dancefloor.

It's this vision that Phase O'Matic brings to the turntables, whether at Libertine parties or in podcasts like this one, offering us a one-hour journey through aggressive and yet captivating rhythms.

HD Series 001 - Phase O'Matic

The second installment of the HD Series is now available, hosted by YU. The Italian producer has released only a few vinyl records, notably on Loft and Art of Dark, but has already become one of the artists capturing our attention. At the crossroads of techno, EBM, and prog, YU's music pushes the boundaries of modernity while cultivating a certain nostalgia for the '80s, both in sound and ambiance.

For this mix, YU made us the honnor to propose a set composed entirely of his own productions—some you may have already heard in clubs, and others you will likely hear in the near future...

HD Series 002 - YU

We're finally back in business and ready to celebrate the 2024 reopening with the third episode of our HD Series. BufoBufo is at the helm this time, and we've been cultivating a certain admiration for his music since his first record on Partout. At the crossroads of electro, breakbeat, and tech-house, Ben Murphy's productions reinvent a retro-modern dance music, drawing their energy from the UK raves of the '90s. A personal touch that has caught the attention of some of our favorite labels such as Altered Sense, Art of Dark, Cabaret (his Wetlands double EP/Album was one of the shop's highlights in 2023), and soon Klasse Wrecks.

So here is his podcast, embracing the vision of club music we share: a 1h15 eclectic set of techno, acid, and even some touches of drum and bass, including some of BufoBufo's unreleased works, which make us even more eager to go out this weekend.

HD Series 003 - BufoBufo

The fourth episode of the HD series is finally here and we're excited to host an almost local (Leeds) talent for this one: Zuul.

We first heard about his music through the brilliant Distant Motive EP and have been following all his releases (and aliases...) since, landing on some of the hottest labels right now, such as Loft Records, Exarde, and very recently MASS.

It's the same kind of attitude you can hear in this one-hour set where Zuul kicks off with more ethereal tones, before diving, minute by minute into darker territories. Acid lines, vocoders, oppressive beats and even twisted screams blend together to create an intense, hypnotic atmosphere.

For lucky Londoners, he'll be playing B2B with Phase O'Matic on 25/10 at the cosy Waiting Room, transformed for the occasion into a haunted chapel open for any adept of the darker sounds.
