Hawa nagila (Hebrew: הבה נגילה - Let us rejoice) - a Jewish folk song sung on holidays, including Hanukkah.

The first recording of this song was made by Abraham Zebi Idelsohn in Jerusalem in 1915. The original text of the song has not survived the centuries and was sung by Hasidim as a nigun. Abraham Zebi Idelsohn wrote the contemporaneous words in 1918 as an expression of joy over the British victory in Palestine and Balfour's declaration of the establishment of a “Jewish national headquarters” in Palestine.

Moshe Natanson claimed authorship of the song's lyrics in later years after Idelsohn's death.
