Coimbra's own Assafrão has emerged from the pandemic haze and his first release on Quântica with "Rokovoj Bereg" - an EP immersed in nostalgia: for the dancefloors while in isolation, for simpler times, reflected in the use of Metal Gear Solid 3 samples and even a wink at it in the title, nostalgia for the lightness of hugging your friends and hanging out without paranoia - things that seemed almost intangible for those two years.

This EP explores various exciting takes on dancefloor-aiming sonics for without ever losing its dreamlike qualities, whether it's a frenetic jungle variation or wistful deep house.

This ethereal journey continues by the hands of DJ No New News signature techno remix of Deeep Cuts and the Coletivo Lenha producers 420@ôa and Vicecity with their trance take on MGS.

Anchored in the spirit of not only collaboration but also repurposing – through a multi-artist cassette album tracing the lineage of jungle and rave, to physical products and clothing made with both used and upcycled materials – ‘Partisan’ represents the labels most ambitious project to date.

Enlisting a crew of close-knit artists and label affiliates including Impey, Sully, PAN’s Flora Yin-Wong, Leicester’s Grade 10 label, Abime label boss YTEM, Acre, Filter Dread and lots more, the ‘Partisan’ cassette tape pack – to be released on November 15th - has been designed from military surplus and will also function as a sewing kit, to encourage buyers to repair and repurpose.

AKUA - Interstellar Prophecy [HOA012]

Presenting Queens of Club: a two-part VA celebrating the established and up-and-coming women and non-binary producers of Ghetto House, Electro, Footwork & Breakbeat.

Astral Booty, shown here, is the otherworldly, funky, leftfield side of Queens of Club. The recurring theme is dreaminess, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security as these tracks still slap, and will go to town on your subwoofer! Cute Breaks, Ghetto Techno and Playful Hardcore are just a few buzzwords that come to mind, but don’t quite do justice to the extreme diversity of sounds within.

The title pays homage to the seminal "Queens of Baltimore Club", a highly sought-after LP from various legendary female Bmore artists (like Kotton the Cutie and Mz. Thang) compiled by DJ Technics in 2001. Almost two decades later and the club scene is still a hostile environment for marginalised groups and this compilation aims to address that. Queens of Club is by women/non-binary people, right down to the mastering engineer and the artwork designers, and intended for everyone who likes to shake their ass at high speed!
