Minkowski 2-9 (M2-9) is a planetary nebula that was discovered by Rudolph Minkowski in 1947. It is located about 2,100 light-years away from Earth. This bipolar nebula takes the peculiar form of twin lobes of material that emanate from a central star. Its form also resembles the wings of a butterfly.

Tone Bardo Therapy originally presents states or bardos of the afterlife, the period after dying before the soul sets itself free, according to the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. Pursuing ‘ Mirrors Placed in Front of Me’ (vinyl, HENK recordings 2012) its self-named album ‘Tone Bardo Therapy II’ reflects a sub-conscious and genre-crossing sound. 

Musical can be therapy, or maybe it was ment to be. A reflection of life itself through sound experience during altering states of mind in times of change. Hear imploding introversions of melancholy of bittersweet realisation. A hybrid-acoustic approach to the realms of lounge, hiphop and left-field-jazz music. Hinting back to pre-2000’s.

Acoustic thoughts yet electronically spoken, the music finds purpose in times of transformation. Slower articulated 
between 80 and 110 bpm, emphasising the 1st, 16th’s and backbeat counts. Phrases and riffs, onto fills are shaping backgrounds and eerie-eyeballing textures serpent. Mister headroom is thanking Miss dynamics.

For the third feature on our spotlight series we welcome Iosif. Iosif is another one of the emerging talents rising from Bucharest’s underground scene. He has had an impression on many in the scene, displaying his talent with a list of impressive productions on both his Soundcloud and Bandcamp pages. Grace is a track typical of Iosif’s rolling sound, combining layers to create a groove that you can imagine twisting and spiralling a peak time dance-floor.
