Mastermind behind Gestalt records and co-founder of the incredible Coymix imprint, Steffan has been all beans no fart from the word go. From releasing music under his moniker Abdula Raeva with his amigo Joonas, to running record labels and spinning wax as a deejay, this dude is a force to be reckoned with, and we are honoured to have him on board with a mix on the series.

Pat Brick aka DJ Life has been on a steady rise since his debut record released in 2019 with Echocentric Records, corresponding with the labels first release. The Aussie DJ and producer has since had a total of eight releases with prominent underground labels such as Dansu Discs, R.A.N.D. Muzik, and most recently, Lobster Theremin’s Distant Horizons sublabel. The energetic and fun take at combining prog, trance and techno has landed DJ Life’s name amongst the top in his league of sound.

We caught up with DJ Life on this edition of MIXED BY to discuss a bit about his music production, influences and the Australian underground dance music scene.

Celebrating the hundredth Animix with some of Animalia's very own - a special live set recorded at the Animalia event in May by Ebbs n Flow (@ebbsnflow), the brainchild of Will Holden & Dashiell. Will is @undergroundcityloop, and one half the iconic Melbourne chuggy trance duo @hybridmn. Dash (@dashiell) has released solo tunes on Animalia, and also makes up one third of Animalia's very own boyband, Ménage (@menagerecords). 

In their new project, the two have paired together to create cheeky, steppy tunes which delve into tech house, garage & d'nb inspired sounds. Ebbs n Flow released a couple of tunes on Animalia's recent compilations and have much more in the works.. so happy to share this mix with everyone for number 100!
