Have you ever wondered what throwing Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Notorious BIG, Gramatik, Tipper and great brazilian artists such as Tim Maia, Di Melo, Roberto Carlos and Sabotagem in a blender, grinding it all up and adding a touch of bass fuelled funky glitch madness in the mixture would sound like?

Well that’s exactly what the Shaka trio have cooked up for you! Originally from Florianópolis but now residing in the dense skyscraper forests of São Paulo, these three musical mad professors / funkenstein creators have been imploding dancefloors with their sonic treats across Brazil and the world.

They have played alongside Criolo, Marcelo D2, Otto, Black Alien, 5 a Seco, Tom Zé and Bixiga 70 in festivals and nightclubs such as Coala Festival, Tribaltech, Universo Paralello, Lions Nightclub and Clash Club amongst others. And have just recently had their first official release Spacefunk EP by Freshly Squeezed music reach a Top 5 position on Juno Download.

Live Shaka are ever so versatile playing from one man vinyl DJ Sets, Back to Back sets with funky grooves and finally a three man show with controllers, drum machines and live instruments that will shake every skeleton in the room!

R Vincenzo is a music producer from São Paulo, Brazil. His work focus on live sample slicing and editing, combining together a wide collection of sounds and beats from different backgrounds.
His peculiar performing style and techniques was quite influenced by 'baile funk' universe (brazilian popular electronic scene), using the machines for repetition, vocal percussions and hipnotic collages. Fresh & live.
