Originally written as a school assignment for the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, "The Ones Who Took it Away" is Hayden Arp's attempt to capture the emotional core of the climate crisis. TOWTIA finds the American-born, Austria-based songwriter contemplating how our generation will be seen by those to come. It features the sounds of crashing waves, children playing, and supporting vocals by Deni Hlavinka of the Western Den. All proceeds of the song will be donated to 350.org, an environmental organization fighting the climate crisis.

Hayden Arp makes music with the goal of creating moments of communion in the world. He was raised in Alexandria, VA and attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied electronic music composition. His first single, In the Fading Light, was described by The FADER as “Tingling… gorgeous,” and his debut EP, For Gabriel, was called “Beautiful and elegiac” by ThrdCoast. He lives in Vienna, Austria.
