On the fourth EP I am expressing 3 techno cuts, highly inspired by the dancefloor. Groovy and danceable yet profound and emotional. They are followed by a signature remix from Rene Wise. I met him on the dance floor at Eerste Communie. This record is a homage to the organization and beautiful people I can call family. 
Let the dancefloor be shifted into a collective oceanic feeling.

Jay Clarke returns to his imprint BLACKAXON for his 6th installment which will be dropping in 4 parts across September and October 2021. The project titled ‘Riders of the Storm’ was announced earlier in the year across his social media channels where he made 4 previously unreleased original tracks available to remix as part of a competition. This was opened up to all production levels, with the idea to give lesser experienced artists the chance to remix, get creative and most importantly have fun. Jay has carefully selected his favourite remixes which will now be presented on the label.

RIDERS OF THE STORM - PART C - TITANIUM

Overwhelming, colossal, outstanding... Some words to describe the infinite sonic universe created
by the Mexican all star Jorg Rodriguez, who delivered 'Impulse Responses' 6 pieces of fine
art in the form of electronic music. Remixes are in the hands of top techno producers
Michel Lauriola and Linear System.

A link to spirituality, preparing us for total mayhem, Behind the Mask is the perfect intro. big fat
bass, deep and hypnotic synths and powerful layering noises, are the perfect elements
for an ambient tune. A portal guiding us into the title track of the release, which is a Dance Floor
gem. Obscure and groovy low frequencies driven by several combinations of percussive elements with
sci fi elements, that become immediately magnetic to the listener. Linear System's version has
a simple and straight forward approach, but keeps the mysticism flowing on a full mental and
physical scale.

While Kryptonite is jumpy and asyncopated, Apparatus has a classical 4x4 pattern, but both of this
bangers share style on the main synth and lfo usage, which is also the main source of Michel Lauriola's
killer rework of Kryptonite. It has an amazing cutting edge synth in the hi end, creating thrill
tension in every second of the track. Linear System's variation of Apparatus is way more groove
oriented, simple and minimalist, with a very catchy main synth that drives you through the song.

The voyage finishes with Eppur Si Muove, another ambient piece that rounds up a magnificent
composition, which we are very proud to share with you.

Isabel Soto joins for DifferentSound Podcast #162.

Isabel Soto is a Venezuelan-Canadian DJ/Producer based in Montreal. She is a resident of DifferentSound and Arder. Her sound remains on the hypnotic/deep and groovy sides of Techno. It can be stated as mental. In less than two years, she has released music on different VAs, original EPs, and an LP on labels such as Dorian, DifferentSound, Diffuse Reality, Second State, PHTM, Occultech Recordings, and Concrete Tbilisi. As well as a remix on Concepto Hipnotico and another one on Dorian. Isabel’s music has already been played by well-known artists such as DVS1, Kr!z, Justine Perry, Paula Koski, and Hypnotic Black Magic.

PHYR Records launches its debut episode with an electrifying one-hour set by the label’s visionary founder, Pyramidal Decode. 

This new series showcases the core of PHYR Records: dark, hypnotic, and powerful techno, brought to life with immersive, flashy club visuals that transform the dancefloor into a pulsating audiovisual experience.

For this inaugural episode, Pyramidal Decode crafts a journey through the label’s signature sound, blending atmospheric textures with relentless industrial rhythms. The visuals, synchronized with the music, create a futuristic club atmosphere-perfectly capturing the essence of PHYR’s identity.
Pyramidal Decode is the alias of Francesco De Marzo, a prolific Italian techno producer and DJ born in 1998.
Known for his genre-defying approach, he moves fluidly between ambient techno and hard industrial, creating mind-bending, hypnotic soundscapes.
 
Starting his musical journey as a guitarist, he later embraced electronic instruments, developing a unique production style that manipulates and distorts sounds into new forms.

Since launching the Pyramidal Decode project in 2017, he has released music on renowned labels such as Axis Records, Dynamic Reflection, MORD, Warm Up and his own Phyr Records.

His sets and productions are celebrated for their emotional depth and technical mastery, making him a rising figure in the international techno scene.

Bio:
Jerónimo Jorge Aka Lezther is an Argentine DJ/Producer, born in 1998. His first contacts with electronic music were when he was a teenager, experimenting with various genres, 
and then finding his passion within Techno. 
He began to enter the world of production at the end of 2022, with 2023 being where he achieved great 
improvement after completing a degree in music production at Escuela Sonica and taking classes with 
some of its references. 
He has released his music on the labels Soma, TMM, Concepto Hipnotico, DarkForest, Ethnic Meeting, 
Dissolved Mind, Diffuse Reality, Despair Scape and Hidden Secrets. 
His sound is defined by being hypnotic, dark and mental, focusing on movement, modulations and textures, generating mental and immersive results. His sessions are characterized by maintaining a very mental, hypnotic and dark line, with a large amount of atmosphere and texture, where he seeks to mix a more powerful and forceful style of techno together 
with layers of SCI-FI sounds to create an atmospheric, powerful and mental journey, highlighting 
equalization and long-lasting mixes to maintain a good level of energy and progressively enter the most intense and dark climates.
