Lech-Lecha Genesis 17:1-8

Chanting a selection from Parashah Vayeishev. This selection begins as Jacob sends young Joseph to find his brothers who are tending to the flocks. In his search, a nameless man "ish" approaches Joseph and tells him to look near Dothan instead of Shechem. Joseph's brothers see him approaching and plot to kill him. Joseph's brothers tear his fine coat off of him, and then throw him into a pit with no water. After scheming for a bit, the brothers see a group of passing Ishmaelites on their way to Egypt. The brothers decide to sell Joseph for twenty pieces of silver, and the Ishmailites carry Joseph down to Egypt. This selection I have chanted ends with Joseph being carried away to Egypt.
