SERAYR01: Satellite Era presents "Year One: Revisited" - a compilation celebrating our first year as a label, featuring handpicked artists that we invited to remix our discography. This is the first edition of what will be an annual, charity-based release series in our catalog selection. 

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, 100% of the proceeds made from this project will be donated to NoStigmas, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization specializing in mental health inclusivity & accessibility.

We welcome Montreal-based producer @yungbrtrnd on remix duties for @gonima - "Luminescence," released earlier this year on Distant Arrays Volume 03 (SERA008). Keeping all the ethereal emotions that the song provides in tact, he turns it into a garage-influenced, club-ready track that feels both authentic & accessible. 

It felt right to invite Istanbul-based @granulmusic to remix his friend & fellow countryman @fosilbass. The two Turkish artists have been leading the way in their underground scene & are beginning to make bigger waves in the global music sphere. He takes "Retiform," released on Distant Arrays Volume 01 (SERA005) last December, & turns it into a mind-numbing track with dancing breakbeats & a powerful bassline.

With unreleased tracks teased in our label showcase mix earlier this year, @terminal11 makes his Satellite Era debut with a remix of "2346" from @testbenchaudio - Butterfly EP (SERA002). With a musical career spanning over 20 years that helped pioneer the early U.S. breakcore movement, the Phoenix artist takes a different approach in this rework - he creates a thumping techno track that progresses deeper into haunting, modular sounds.

We end this EP with a very special remix from algorithmic producer @kindohm - he digests @tsone - Airmass EP (SERA004) in its entirety & turns it into an uneasy collage full of twists & turns. Remains of all six original tracks can be deciphered in this unique take on one of our most beloved releases from 2020.

We are immensely grateful for the support that we have received over the past year. We hope to continue shining light to societal issues first & foremost, all while providing meaningful art for those struggling around the world.

Intergalactic soundshifter Bop is back with yet another mind-bending release on Hospital Records. Made up of four fresh dance music delights each exploring different pockets of the sonic spectrum, the Saint Petersburg-based musical wizard explores the sounds of UK garage, techno, jungle, electronica and ambient on his latest ‘Plexus’ EP.

‘2gether’ opens the release with a futuristic garage number which is set to light up dancefloors throughout the galaxy. Off-beat dubbed out synths, skittery percussions and a classic UK garage bassline with a modern twist are channelled into an all-round electronic weapon, crafted together intricately by Bop.

Entering into the realm of hypnotic techno, ‘Reform’ sees a raw amalgamation of vibrations that will elevate the mind into a higher state of consciousness. Thumping kick drums and dreamlike synthesis carry the weight of the tune as Bop further demonstrates how his flexible approach to production continues to go unmatched in the world of dance music.

Stepping up the tempo on the aptly titled ‘Surfing The Anxiety Waves’, Bop puts his minimal spin on a new-wave jungle slammer. Expect a resonant bassline which falls downwards into the pits of your stomach, accompanied by hard-hitting breakbeats which fizzle out into nothingness before coming back around to strike again. This one is not for the faint hearted.

‘Guilt Of Being A Human’ rounds off the EP with playful melodies and elements of Bop’s classic microfunk sound, reminiscent of his earlier works such as ‘A Song About My Dog’. This electronic delicacy is filled with a vast sense of spaciousness, scattered with a seemingly never-ending amount of musical intricacies.

Not one for sticking to one style, Bop’s versatile sound has seen him rack up support from an array of tastemakers. His most recent ‘Perehod’ EP received the seal of approval from the likes of Ejeca, London Elektricity, Laurent Garnier and Oneman. Also no stranger to topping charts outside of the drum & bass world, his ‘Haze’ track with Subwave reached number 1 on the Beatport Garage chart. With support over the years from the likes of DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Reprezent, not to mention the running of his very own esteemed Microfunk imprint, the sounds of Bop continue to ripple into 2021 and beyond.
