When we were young, there was hope in our hearts.

We were having fun, we don't care wherever the mishaps!

The world was an anthem in which were the melodies of boyhood.

Dreams pour out in the form of epic poetry that never gets boring

We used to dream of a land in which there is a fountain of passion.

And flying horses that we longed would arrive.

يوم أن كنا صغارا – When we were young

Be content with the smallest of life
And prepare yourself for the long journey

In Allah’s obedience you win both this life and the hereafter
And in it, there’s pride for the humble slave

Be content with the smallest – تبلغ بالقليل من القليل

I will conceal my anger and show my darkness
A whipping that none other can serve
I will relay through my prostration the sorrows of my heart
And purify my fleeing soul with my tears

If my comrade neglects years of safrices
I will forgive him and he will return
I was not created except to give 
Even the one I was generous towards denies

I Will Conceal My Anger – سأكظم غيظتى وأُرى ظلومى

In hardship there's no choice
The dire moments in which there's no fleeing have begun
And the horses of hardship have been saddled, so have hope
My Soul, your matter will be taken care of [by Allah]

No Choice – ما لهن خيار

Taweel Al-Shawq – طويل الشوق

كم رأيت القلب يقسو بعد لين

لو أنَّ الشِعرَ ما سَكَنَ فُؤادي

قضيتنا

I reached what I sought out to do, thanks to Allah.
And in asking you I found pleasure and comfort.
And now I hope for what I previously hoped for.
That is my wish, and with you lies my purpose.

I lived for a while and experienced many scenarios.
And I encountered treachery [from people] that I never imagined.
The days unveiled to me about the nature of life.
And I met in my time the best and worst of people.

As time passed on I passed by all of life's cups.
And I found nothing more distasteful than the drink of treachery.
But nothing heals the soul more than..
reaching its wishes or being victorious.

From anger, I used to blame time. 
But now I have nothing to blame it for.
If there were was a culprit [other than me] before today and yesterday
Then he has vanished remorsefully.
