Foshe and Bentley are two separate entities who regularly collaborate in their home city of Sydney. Foshe create fully improvised polyrhythmic-afro-Latin-synth-ambient-jazz-house. The trio have been gigging heavily from 2018, engaging in energetic weekly residencies, and supporting artists from Lonnie Liston Smith to the 30/70 collective, Horatio Luna and ZFEX, GODTET and more.

Mike Bentley is a drummer who collaborates with friends around Sydney/Melbourne, creating deeply groovy, rhythmically hypnotic journeys through jazz, hip hop and house, inspired by the likes of Kamaal Williams & Vijay Iyer. Producing modern jazz-house combined with odd time signatures, Mike was a key driving force behind this set of new, live recordings.

The ‘Parlour Cucina’ album is the result of a live residency at the Sydney venue of the same name. The residency was split between sets with the regular Foshe trio (Mike, Zigi, Tom) and open collaborations with other artists through Bentley.

'Breadsticks' is the first track to be lifted from the album which is being released via Headcount Records on May 31st

Scarlett Fae is a 24 year old singer-songwriter from Brighton (UK). She has written, starred in and co-directed her first short film to accompany the new single 'Black Molasses'.

The story follows a regular Sunday in the life of G, a 20-something and explores a correlation between her experiences and those of Mother Earth.

Created with Nathan Shadrach (co-director), Fae’s directorial debut was filmed in early 2021 with the help of a small, close-knit crew and cast.

This piece of work was created as both a stand alone short film and as a visual accompaniment to her most recent single ‘Black Molasses’. Produced by Tim Bell - the track was written and performed by Scarlett and features lyrics and a musical composition which focus on the large issues surrounding the health of planet Earth. A poignant message delivered through a beautiful and cinematic ballad.

In 1978 Japan released their debut album Adolescent Sex and kick started a career that would span decades. With Steve Jansen on drums the band enjoyed huge success whilst simultaneously creating a back catalogue of music that still inspires today. Fast forward to 2007 and after many years working and collaborating with artists such as Richard Barbieri, Yukihiro Takahashi, Ryuichi Sakamoto & Bernd Friedmann, Steve released his debut, solo album Slope. This experimental, imaginative and vivid project set the bar high for Steve as a solo artist and it wasn’t until 2016 that he followed it up with his new album Tender Extinction. 

Tender Extinction is an introspective, sprawling and at times haunting album with each track taking on its own unique aesthetic and individual journey. Initially released on Bandcamp in April, Headcount Records have now released the project on 180g, lacquer cut, double LP. Featuring guest vocalists and musicians throughout, the album is a beautifully crafted piece of art and something that can truly demand a listener’s full attention.
