Here is Patient Zero, the second unveiled track from Medhead, the third Cosmo Vitelli album.
The Lp will be released on vinyl as a super limited and hand numbered edition on March the 18th. It is already available -very few copies are left- as pre-order via Bandcamp.
Patient Zero is quite unusual in the album : it’s a long and krautish number whereas the rest of the album is more song based, vocals courtesy of Plus Instrument’ Truus de Groot.
We thought it was a good idea to show this side of Cosmo’s current production as well.

Call it female instinct; she knew something wasn't right. It happened years and years ago, the memory had been buried deep in the back of her mind, and with it the overwhelming guilt. She'd assumed she'd made it over the hurdle of being found out, that any chance of the truth coming out had long died out, but recently something told her that people knew. Slight glances, blunt interactions, distant relationships; these all led her to believe one thing, it was only a matter of time before the truth reared its ugly head.

What started out as an event series in their home of Kyiv is now being expanded by co-bosses Kostya Kottov and Techija to include a fresh label. Much like the sounds and styles that Povilno have championed through their parties, the inaugural outing - a compilation featuring artists from across the globe - concerns itself with psychedelic rhythms, leftfield downtempo and hypnotic slow burners. There's music from Inside Out co-founders Stevie R and Parisinos, from Lithuanian talent Roe Deers, Povilno label mate ID_UA and many more, who all help set the tone for what we can expect from the label in the future.

Hard Work is the first release on Industria, Robi Insinna’s brand new project label.

Back in 2001 Robi Insinna founded the seminal Relish label in direct response to a thendominant sound in club music. Its catalogue is as vast as it is varied and foreshadowing the music he'd go on to make himself under Headman/Manhead. Fast forward to 2018 and after more than a decade he's on the move again launching new Project label, Industria with 'not quite an album, not quite an EP, Hard Work. Robi felt there was no reason to split projects the way he did with his aliases and as such the debut will be released under Robi's own name.

Industria will be focused more on vinyl releases, but not solely vinyl. The project will encompass all area's of Robi's work and ties together elements of his art and visual design projects. This release is limited to 200 copies, 50 of them will feature a special Artwork, that will be sold in
selected places.

Merging Robi's disco leanings with an opiate smooth, stoned groove the title track Hard Work opens proceedings and heads immediately for the dancefloor dragging its hushed vocals and skewed guitar line kicking and screaming with it. The dub rolls in next further stretching and twisting the guitar and giving the rhythm more space to swing. It most of all draws from the sense of outsider-disco fun, with the sound of stuttering percussion, a wry smile, and a knowing wink running throughout. Düsseldorf Krautrockers Die Wilde Jagd take over remix duties on the third track of the A side and cast Hard Work off into unfamiliar and experimental territory, using bright synth splashes,
squashed vocal samples and a pulsing rhythm to wrestle the groove and growling sense of menace out of the track.
Side 2 kicks things off with Some Believe coming to life with arpeggio'd synth shapes and brutish drums. The overall feel, however, suggests considerable care and attention has been paid to make it sound this way. There's clearly an uncommon musicality at play here to make something this complex feel so simple. The BPM drops next on The Kiss but from the offset, there's enough funk and thrust in the
motorised synth line to get bodies gently grooving without the beauty getting lost in the slower
loop. A dramatic bass leads and a xylophone playing a nervous but euphoric melody follows. It's glassy mallets pinging atop the warm electronics creating a fresh groove. Closing track Oct17 rounds off the record and puts an ever more personal spin on retro analogue
sounds with synths and drummachines . A razor-sharp snare fires against the bassline and what sounds like a sliced vocal loop before these elements settle into a more measured thrust with the
undulating synth tones offset by funkier ingredients. This is a record that doesn't have its eyes fixed on past glories but references all the element that made Robi's previous work so special. Hard Work sounds like it's here to freshen up 2018. It's music that leaves scorch marks and smoulders. It is the sound of our very own, very recent times.

Knotpop is a revelatory lost album of deviant new wave from San Fransisco duo Ixna. Like Brian Eno and The Flying Lizards, the album is a sideways and inverted take on pop music. Jay Cloidt and Marina La Palma were students of David Behrman and Robert Ashley at Mills College, inspired by their infamously irreverent faculty to nudge the avant-garde out of its stuffy tweed and into something more exciting, something clad in denim & leather. Recorded at the Center For Contemporary Music at Mills in 1981, the album combines Cloidt's studio wizardry, sampling abilities and vibrant bass with La Palma’s expressive vocals, and love of made-up and invented languages (Esperanto). Ixna only released one 7" during that time, featuring two songs from this unrealized album, which became sought after over the decades. The discovery of Knotpop will feel like manna from heaven for previous fans, and a welcome addition to the cannon of avant-inverted-pop ur-classics by Suicide, impLOG, Naffi, General Strike, Thick Pigeon and UnknownMix. Concentric Circles is honoured to present Knotpop to the world for the first time. Mastered from the original reels, DMM pressing.

A single rocky path was the only route up the dusty hill to the ancient gardens. Not many ventured up there, it rarely welcomed visitors anymore. Most of it had been left untouched since it had been a landmark decades ago; dead trees bordered the crumbling walls and the marble fountains were dry from years spent without water. But the place still had a sense of magic about it, even in its decaying state. From the top you could see the whole of Istanbul and from here the city never looked so beautiful… 

Lyon's Hard Fist are a label influenced by global and ancestral sounds, their mission to twist these into dance floor focused cuts. Having previously charted releases from Pletnev, Timothy Clerkin, Bawrut and label heads Cornelius Doctor and Tushen Raï, the next comes in the form of volume no 2 of their Princes Of Abzu VA series. The release involves contributions from Mekine U Teksi, Que Sakamoto, Feller, Ayma with Kaan Duuzarat on remix duties, and our pick from LINJA, all of which explore influences ranging from EBM and acid to tribal and darkwave.

She chose music over a PhD – a truly reasonable decision if you're familiar with Julienne's discography and some of her releases on labels such as Kompakt, Optimo or Hippie Dance. Since 2012 the Berliner has taken the electronic music scene gradually, has put out her music either with Sascha Funke as Saschienne, The Twins or The Fantastic Twins and has made an ongoing impression with collaborative works like Train of Fantastic, her EPs Lost In Germany, The New You or her Obakodomo LP, to name a few. Julienne dearly has to offer quite some bits when it comes and 2020 does not seem to change that. With more than 70 unfinished demos on her hard disk, two new but not fully her own pieces of music will be released this week. Firstly, the Berliner by choice, Glaswegian by heart and originally French artist teamed up with Juan MacLean for the aromantic track She's Breaking Up in order to give an intense psychedelic experience a voice and secondly she reworked Shari Vari's tune Now. While She's Breaking Up will be out on Correspondant, Julienne's remix approach will be released on Malka Tuti. Reason enough to chat and get some insights on Julienne's personal and artistic being, how she turned to a Berliner and much more.

Its catalogue is as vast as it is varied and foreshadowing the music he'd go on to make himself under Headman/Manhead. Some highlights are IT ROUGH, Birth School Work Death, in the early years for the newer period tracks such as Be Loved, Dechainee. He also was busy remixing the likes of Roxy Music, The Gossip, Franz Ferdinand, The Units, Unknown Cases, Gina X and many more.
Relish has also been busy releasing international talents and remixes such as Daniel Avery, Red Axes, Borusiade, Manfredas.
