Headman returns once again on his own Relish Recordings label with a superb new EP featuring new track ‘Turning’ and a near perfect package of remixes from Emperor Machine, Richard Fearless, Scott Fraser & Murphy Jax…

Robi Insinna has been at the heart of the early electro-disco moment for the last decade. His recordings for Gomma, Output and then his own Relish Recordings label have been hugely influential, inspiring the next generation of producers,
whilst his name has been a ‘go-to’ for quality remixes, gracing the releases of artists such as Franz Ferdinand, The Gossip, Roxy Music & The Units. Whilst his work as Headman and Manhead has been a constant for quality in this everchanging
world, his label Relish has also become a beacon for the best in electronic music. Recent singles from Headman & Daniel Avery have received critical acclaim and passionate support and the labels Relish 3 compilation last year gave a taste of what is to come.

The latest single from Headman sees Insinna offer up the wonderful ‘Turning’, an 80’s tinged machine-funk vocal outing that comes on like a modern love child of Human League, New Order and Grace Jones. Robi’s tight yet rich production
shines through on both the dub version and the original which features vocalist Tara, who previously appeared on the awesome ’It Rough’.

The originals of ‘Turning’ are complimented by two remixes, the first comes from production hero Emperor Machine AKA Andy Meecham, one half of the hugely influential Chicken Lips who back in 2003 remixed ‘It Rough’ turning it into an
underground hit. Meecham’s mix is the kind of epic, extended masterpiece that we have come to expect from a producer of his calibre, it draws you in, twists you up in it’s funk and has you shaking for the full nine minutes to it’s conclusion. The
second mix comes from Scott Fraser, a producer who shares studio space with Andrew Weatherall and has recently released on Astrolab France and World Unknown, here he delivers a pulsing, Moroder-esque reworking that is a heads down, disco delight.

Added to the package we have two remixes of ‘Be Loved’, Headman’s last single. The first comes from none other than Richard Fearless/Death in Vegas, who is very much hot property after the release of his incredible 2011 album ‘Trans-
Love Energies’, here he turns in a truly storming mix that segues from a distorted leftfield intro into an acid house classic, wonderful in every way! The second mix and the final piece in the puzzle is supplied by the ever brilliant Murphy Jax who
takes ‘Be Loved’ and works it into a warm, percussive house workout that marries pads, big piano chords and rich bass to create a simply blissful mix.

Robi Insinna is a Producer, DJ, Visual Artist and INDUSTRIA and RELISH owner.

Back in 2001 he founded the seminal Relish label in direct response to a then-dominant sound in club music. Its catalogue is as vast as it is varied and foreshadowing the music he'd go on to make himself under Headman/Manhead. Some highlights are IT ROUGH, Birth School Work Death, in the early years for the newer period tracks such as Be Loved, Dechainee. He also was busy remixing the likes of Roxy Music, The Gossip, Franz Ferdinand, The Units, Unknown Cases, Gina X and many more.
Relish has also been busy releasing international talents and remixes such as Daniel Avery, Red Axes, Borusiade, Manfredas.


Fast forward to 2018 he's on the move again launching new Project label, Industria with - not quite an album, not quite an EP - Hard Work. The debut was released under Robi's own name.
Industria will be focused more on vinyl releases, but not solely vinyl. The project will encompass all areas of Robi's work and ties together elements of his art and visual design projects and products.
