Born beneath the storm clouds of Sydney's recently introduced "lockout laws" (currently draining the magic from a once-vibrant nightlife), this continually shifting mobile street act sidesteps these new restraints to rejuvenate the public with funky fresh grooves.

Featuring a relentlessly rotating lineup of players and styles, the only constants here are colour, volume and improvisation. Everything is recorded: outstanding moments are prospected, polished, packaged and preserved in a series of DIY mixtapes.

What is a Red Tin? We were in Adelaide for the Fringe Festival this year, busking Rundle St (something of a party street), when some folks came by, one young man comandeering the mic.  How many stories he has to tell we may never know - but this is certainly one of them.
