Hello Soundcloud. Hope you enjoy the first artist release on Heard and Felt, available on limited vinyl, and digital with bonus tracks. It comes from Melbourne audio-visual artist Cy Gorman @soulmirage, and is getting love from Jazzy Jeff, Gilles Peterson and Soul & Pimp Sessions.

After laying down a highly unusual blend of latin, trap, G-funk and soul on a recent remix of London's Los Charly's Orchestra, Cy extends his palette further on 'Carmen'. Drawing on his skills as composer, producer, pianist, saxophonist and vocalist, the sound ranges from the feelgood synth-funk of 'Cool Change' and 8-bit baroque beats of 'Carmen San Diego' to the leftfield bossa of 'The Wishing Well' and smoky jazz club vibes of 'RDJ'. The latter gets a remix from LA's Daniel Crawford, whose album 'The Awakening' (feat. Amp Fiddler and Vikter Duplaix) was a big favourite for me and Cy. Daniel adds a warm and soulful touch on his remix, recalling the days of George Duke teaming up with Milton Nascimento.

Original LPs change hands for about $700 each. Aaron Milenski in The Acid Archives wrote that this has "a sound similar to the early Chuck & Mary Perrin albums, if they didn't have female vocals. Japanese collectors crave it for those songs, though psych collectors will be more interested in 'Sightly Sue,' which has bizarre use of guitar vibrato, and 'I Need a Change' and 'Where Is The Change,' which have a bit of mild fuzz guitar (the latter has maybe the shortest and most unlikely wah wah break ever.) A few other songs have some jazzy lead guitar and complex chord progressions. Overall, somewhere between stark hippie folk and folky singer/songwriter. Loner folk fans may enjoy it, as a couple of songs are pretty dark in tone."

Musical powerhouses John Legend & The Roots present Wake Up!, eleven profoundly evocative songs pulled from the soulful music of the 60's and 70's all with an underlying theme of awareness, engagement and consciousness.
