Australian raised, New York based producer Kate Stein makes her debut on Playground Records with ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ a powerful Ep full of hypnotic rhythms and beautiful landscapes, composed by 2 original mixes accompanied by high caliber remixes from Autarkic and Balam.
‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ begins like a train barreling from far away with staccato arpeggios and modulations; like horns warning that it is in a hurry and the energy will not stop. Sensual and seductive at the same time, the track builds with an elegant current of sound. This takes us back to the beginning of electronic sounds, reminiscent of I Feel Love. The glam of Studio 54 crossover with some acid slow electro makes for an irresistible dance ripped dress.
The second track is called ‘Hi-Lo Motel’ and it gets more serious. A bouncing synth marks out a crossover bass with modulations seeping back and forth in alien tone. A smooth and rarefied flight, ecstatic, stealthy and nostalgic.
Autarkic remixes ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ by twisting it with a lot of funk machine. A hoarse, scratchy bass grooves recklessly as a dirty, dragged snare beats his side. Cowbells rattle for flavor as acid modulations elusively intersect. Pads of mystery take us to a break
that is quickly attacked again by the bass to unleash a brazen and shrewd dance.
Balam gives his own perspective about ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ closing the Ep and doing what he does best, mixing synthetic tribalism of acid modulations and frenetic percussion. His bass, his personal mark, pushes incessantly and cadency. He takes us on a sinuous and enchanting journey while chords scatter us through an open space towards infinity.

In Red Eye, eponymous track of the EP, the first thing noticed has to be the jumpy beat,made of a UK vibe with an energetic kick pattern. The track being constructed, severalmelodic details are steadily introduced, dark horns forecast the arrival of a powerfulbassline and deliver the energy conveyed in the tune. The whole is later completed byunderwater (clin-d’oeil like to Hold Your Breath?) or space-like melodies.

Hold your breath is a slow enticing tune, with a melodic air, sprinkled with low end and long horn sounds, which add to the sinister aura of the song. The lead melody creeps steadily around the constant high hats, the vocals arrival during the break and later releasing the tension with a low end drop completed by various details as lazers-like and cowbell sounds further drive the dark vibe in this one.

Finnish- Berlin -based OBI BLANCHE makes his Ombra INTL Debut with a powerful kraut-punk acid tinged jam channeling his roots in the guitar and fringe electronic scenes as a staple member for years in the Anika band, as well as Thomas Azier.

From Palawan was partly produced in the heart of the Loatian mountains, with samples found during Mura Mura‘s last roadtrip in South East Asia. Back in Lyon, his moog and his guitar we do the rest.“

French Dark Italo-tech prince, BACK FROM THE WAVE conjures an emotional ride for the strobe filled dance floors and Tokyo‘s prolific QUE SAKAMOTO joins forces with his friend NT to bring us a sludged out electro banger. Lyon‘s MURA MURA makes his Ombra debut as well, takes us on a slow and funky hypnotic journey with a song composed in the Loatian Mountains with samples from his last trip in South East Asia. Last but not least, the mysterious Naples-based Dark Wave screamo band bring a 136 bpm post punk infused anthem for the end of days.

This is maybe one of the most diverse releases yet own the label, which makes me absolutely ecstatic to finally share it with you. - Curses

Hard Work is the first release on Industria, Robi Insinna’s brand new project label.

Back in 2001 Robi Insinna founded the seminal Relish label in direct response to a thendominant sound in club music. Its catalogue is as vast as it is varied and foreshadowing the music he'd go on to make himself under Headman/Manhead. Fast forward to 2018 and after more than a decade he's on the move again launching new Project label, Industria with 'not quite an album, not quite an EP, Hard Work. Robi felt there was no reason to split projects the way he did with his aliases and as such the debut will be released under Robi's own name.

Industria will be focused more on vinyl releases, but not solely vinyl. The project will encompass all area's of Robi's work and ties together elements of his art and visual design projects. This release is limited to 200 copies, 50 of them will feature a special Artwork, that will be sold in
selected places.

Merging Robi's disco leanings with an opiate smooth, stoned groove the title track Hard Work opens proceedings and heads immediately for the dancefloor dragging its hushed vocals and skewed guitar line kicking and screaming with it. The dub rolls in next further stretching and twisting the guitar and giving the rhythm more space to swing. It most of all draws from the sense of outsider-disco fun, with the sound of stuttering percussion, a wry smile, and a knowing wink running throughout. Düsseldorf Krautrockers Die Wilde Jagd take over remix duties on the third track of the A side and cast Hard Work off into unfamiliar and experimental territory, using bright synth splashes,
squashed vocal samples and a pulsing rhythm to wrestle the groove and growling sense of menace out of the track.
Side 2 kicks things off with Some Believe coming to life with arpeggio'd synth shapes and brutish drums. The overall feel, however, suggests considerable care and attention has been paid to make it sound this way. There's clearly an uncommon musicality at play here to make something this complex feel so simple. The BPM drops next on The Kiss but from the offset, there's enough funk and thrust in the
motorised synth line to get bodies gently grooving without the beauty getting lost in the slower
loop. A dramatic bass leads and a xylophone playing a nervous but euphoric melody follows. It's glassy mallets pinging atop the warm electronics creating a fresh groove. Closing track Oct17 rounds off the record and puts an ever more personal spin on retro analogue
sounds with synths and drummachines . A razor-sharp snare fires against the bassline and what sounds like a sliced vocal loop before these elements settle into a more measured thrust with the
undulating synth tones offset by funkier ingredients. This is a record that doesn't have its eyes fixed on past glories but references all the element that made Robi's previous work so special. Hard Work sounds like it's here to freshen up 2018. It's music that leaves scorch marks and smoulders. It is the sound of our very own, very recent times.

Fewer things get us more excited than a Credit 00 track to Premiere, after the beasts that was the Metal Box EP his own Rat Life Records or Game Over LP on Uncanny Valley, he's back, this time on Bordello a Parigi with a killer, and it's fair to say with his latest offering that Big Beat is back!  Credit 00 is on form, on fire and on top of his game. 
Bordello a Parigi have a hit on their hand as they release Cruisin' which could easily be a lost Chemical Brothers B side from the early 90s. Coming on like a forgotten Ibiza classic buried in the bottom of your record box just begging to be remembered. 
Cruisin' evokes that 90s sound, whether it reminds you of Madchester, Cafe Mambo or the Conchord in Brighton, it's an absolute must hear from a quality artist on a quality label.

@quixoticalrecords is a united Argentina/Lithuania record label, music channel and party organizer opened on 2020 by Emmanuel Poulper and Aurum Miles. The main direction of this project is indie & mysterious waves. Drama, sex and dark feelings, never losing groove, oriented to special moments. It is driven by disco and techno influences with EBM flashes and electro pieces.

"QXT001" compilation is a first official release of Quixotical Records. Various Artists album with 17 artists and 13 tracks. It is going to be a great surprise to everyone who is into indie-dance, dark disco and electronic music.

And here comes tribal percusion-type deep electronic track "Ritual Of Shaman" by @andreasrund. Drum machine, acid stuff, intense percusive groove and sharp synthesizer's fxs... all this stuff helps you to move to other dimension and experience the place where shamans communicates with spirits.
