Recorded in the oldest rainforest on Earth (one of the oldest), in Belum-Temenggor (Malaysia) during the night. 
We placed drop rigs attached to trees near salt licks.
One elephant found one of our rig, and detached it, then play around, eating mud, chewing and blowing with its trunk. 
Then he completely destroyed the gear. Hopefully we were able to read the memory card.

A recording showing the differences in the sound of the creaking of a tree from outside and its inside. Outside, the AT BP4025 microphone is located a few dozen centimeters from the creaking tree. Inside, LOM Uši microphones are stuck in the rotting base of the tree.
The first two minutes (0:00 - 2:00) are recorded from the outside  - from the AT BP 4025 microphone.
The next two minutes (2:00 - 4:00) is a recording from inside the tree - with LOM Uši.
The last two minutes (4:00 - 6:00) are both inside and outside recordings combined.

It's the end of June. Most birds are engaged in breeding chicks or the chicks have already left the nest. There aren't many forest birds who sing anymore. I find Icterine Warbler singing in the black alder forest. At some point, Wren will join him. 
Recording contains sound that sounds like white noise. The air is no longer crystal clear like the mornings of May. Wind in the leaves, the insects and maybe my new pair of em-172 microphones are contributing to this. From time to time there is a knocking sound, these are two trunks of trees that are pushed together by the wind. The photo was taken exactly where the sound was recorded. I believe there is some kind of crepis in the picture

This piece is based on a flute improvisation recorded in the forest over a phrygian scale arpeggio created with a small Eurorack modular system and choir samples.

"Haunted Houses" is a collection of seven tracks in slow, melancholy, dreamlike, nocturnal mood. It's a work made of waiting, of grainy sounds and silences full of rustles. It's a work talking about isolation, either in a physical and mental space; which talks about full spaces and empty or restricted spaces, of presences and absences, of memory and hope, of distances, of houses and rooms. Rooms innervated with restlessness and waiting (the opening track "Sleepless"). Houses where memories crowd, layered memories that coexist with the present (the title-track "Haunted Houses" is a short electroacoustic study on perception: indistinct, evanescent sounds, old pianos in the distance, confused and ectoplasmic voices, furniture that moves from the floor above, sighs...). And then there are presences such as those of literary characters, which can come to life in the mind while reading ("The death of Joe Christmas" is inspired by the restless and controversial character narrated by William Faulkner in "Light in August"). 
Even absences find space in the album, manifesting themselves in their impalpable distance (the piece "In Absence"), as memories of a past that has no place in the present. Then the rooms can become places overloaded with pain (the track "Torture Room"), where this suffering and effort can take an expiatory, spiritual, meditative form. And after all this inner torment, even isolation can turn into an opportunity for reflection, "redemption" and sincere change: the final tracks "Pure" and "Endless" try to capture this renewed spirit, following a strongly emotional path. “Endless” closes the circle, but it can also reopen it. 

"Haunted Houses" was made with guitars, contact microphones, an old cassette recorder, field recordings, dusty and grainy lo-fi sounds, found objects, recordings of streets at night, sounds of a carpentry workshop, slowed sounds, manipulation of loops of classical music taken from the radio. Every detail, every sound has been carved and polished day after day, chiseled and positioned with care and devotion, in a work of "sound craftsmanship".

Whenever winter arrives, I am always amazed by the beauty of the colours that the sky can create. I will never tire of looking at the infinite beauty of nature; colours and emotions that I love to associate with sounds of a certain type. 
That's why I really want to present some albums during this season.The first release of 2021 describes in an excellent way the tonal range of this winter, so uncertain, cold and melancholic. That Which Is Not is a beautiful project that combines the sound experiments of Nicola Fornasari (Xu, La Petite Vague, etc) and the instrumental ramifications of Pier Giorgio Storti (Morose, Belaqua Shua, etc) who, with notes of cello and many other instruments, adds nuances to a rich picture of pulsating introspection.
