Summer Storm

A bald eagle swoops in to land, calls, takes off, circles and returns, calls some more then takes off.  Use headphones for best experience.  Recorded May 31, 2024 at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.  Also in the recording: Red-breasted Nuthatch, Northern Flicker, Dark-eyed Junco, Mountain Chickadee, American Robin, Hammond's Flycatcher, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Tree Swallow, Warbling Vireo, and distant waterfowl.

Start of the dawn chorus at Upper Lake, Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.  Trumpeter Swans mutter while accompanied by Wilson's Snipe, Pied-Billed Grebe, American Robin, Gray Catbird, Tree Swallow and others.  Coyotes join the chorus at the end.

January Dawn Chorus - Dartmoor Reservoir

It's only the first day of February, but already the dawn chorus is starting to build up in this wet woodland at the head of a small reservoir in Dartmoor National Park.

Wind Titchwell Storm Ashley

Fallow deer rut at Holkham Hall estate in Norfolk. It was a very windy day as Storm Ahsley made landfall in the UK. The rushing of leaves made for difficult recording conditions but the experience was made all the more dramatic for it. in this recording you can hear more the does making their characteristic bleating sound.
