Dj Hazelgurner first began playing music in the 90's. For many years now he has played @ clubs like Razzmatazz, DC10 Barcelona, Row14,  and others. Playing @ parties with other DJ's like James Ruskin, Oliver Ho, Len Faki, and Alecs Marta. In 2012 be began his Ecstatic Dance journey wih DJ Albert Pala from Ecstatic Dance Barcelona. Since then Dj Hazelgurner has played at events in Barcelona and festivals like Spiritual Dance, Agni Spirit Festival, Ecstatic Dance Barcelona Festival, Own Spirit Festival, Open Heart Festival, Organic Festival, and Psy Fi 2019. Now Dj Hazelgurner is a member of the Ecstatic Dance Barcelona Team that offers Ecstatic Dance sets every Friday in Barcelona. Since 2018 Hazelgurner began to play at other cities like Berlin, Bucharesti, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Breda, Nijmegen, Utrecht, Leuven, and other places. He is also the creator of Ecstatic Dance Jupiter a solidarity event for those who connect in with Ganesha's prosperity and service to the other energies. Hazelgurner is also one of the founders of Cacao Dance Crew BCN, and organics Cacao and Dance events which are held monthly in Barcelona.

Dj Hazelgurner creates a mystic travel inspired with the hero's journey described by Joseph Campbell. An integral experience for your body, soul and spirit where you can explore your individual creativity and co-creative capacity through your body. A soundtrack of space atmospheres, drone ambient, native sounds, ethnic voices, shamanic rhthyms, medicine songs, tribal percussion and a eclectic selection of music since funky-house to classical music.

Ecstatic dance is a form of dance in which the dancers, sometimes without the need to follow specific steps, abandon themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy.

Ecstatic dance has been practised throughout human history, including in classical times by the maenads, followers of the wine-god Dionysus. In the ancient and widespread practice of shamanism, ecstatic dance and rhythmic drumming are used to alter consciousness in spiritual practices as different as the Kut ritual of Korea and among the San of Southern Africa. Ecstatic dances are known also from religious traditions around the world, including Sufi dervishes; from Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana, and Senegal, and the Candomble of Brazil, derived from African traditions. 

Modern ecstatic dance was revived by Gabrielle Roth in the 1970s and formalised in her 5Rhythms practice; it is now found in variants across the western world.

The effects of ecstatic dance begin with ecstasy itself, which may be experienced in differing degrees. Dancers are described as feeling connected to others, and to their own emotions. The dance serves as a form of meditation, helping people to cope with stress and to attain serenity.

a freeform movement space where: dance expands, spirit activates, boundaries melt, boredom ceases, creativity breaks out, hope happens, beauty flows, communities collaborate, ritual is reinvented, harmony resonates, The beat deepens, as an electronic tapestry, of world rhythms, weave us together, as individuals, within a greater family.

Located in Mount Shasta, CA. Dances take place every Thursday from 7pm-9pm at the City Park Dance Hall, 1315 Nixon Rd. The fees can range anywhere from $7 to $20 depending on special events.
