Banoffee Pies Records 18th release in the Original Series continues with another speaker hugger via a 4 track EP from HearThuG. The Tunisia based artist, digger, and “Are You Alien” label/party founder joins the Banoffee fray with “Planet Rhythm X”.

The Producer / DJ who honed a craft in sample twisted acid and breaks, drops their first solo release since 2018. A friendly face pushing the local scene with an impressive output of heavily chaptered synth jams.

The lead track “Earthling” sets a welcome signal with a low key wiggle, chopped drums and pinching acid lines ahead of the title tune “Planet Rhythm X” on the A2, which shifts to a 4x4 launch pad and countdown. “The Land Of The Never Ending Jazz” opens the B side with a superb 9 minute exploration of playful melodies and jazz keys, with a classy twirl. The EP closes out with an ear worm and soft breaks in the form of “Love Lesson”, featuring the smooth vocal works of local artist Fig Republic on the B2. Much love BPR x

Faceless Recordings are set to return this June with an atmospheric three-track release from HearThug, featuring a remix from Timo Maas.

The latest international artist to hit the books of Faceless Recordings is Tunisia’s HearThuG – a producer with releases on My Favorite Robot, Sincopat and Stranjur that have each demonstrated his adaptability with styles ranging from upbeat, disco influences through to swirling atmospheric techno. Here we see HearThuG deliver some fresh original tracks and join the Faceless roster, slotting him in amongst James Teej, Climbers, Bambook and Jay Tripwire in the catalogue.

Droning synths, spacey samples and sombre piano chords adorn the tripped out, fifteen-minute instrumental voyage that is ‘Celestial Asterism’. The track keeps a steady vibe and pace as it subtly develops and evolves throughout, creating an introspective yet expansive opening number.

Legendary German producer Timo Maas delivers a remix to follow which has a more aggressive feel, gradually building with heavy tension, a steady house beat and throbbing with latent danger. The original’s droning hook is given an abrasive edge while industrial, metallic sounds invade across its eight and a half-minute duration.

The tension dissipates on closing cut ‘Invasion Of The Robots’, which has elements of cosmic disco and employs pulsing bass, motoric-like beats and major key chords to create a charming closing piece.

We are proud to present you our 24th release. For this release we have My Favorite Robot delivering this amazing EP. This release also includes the amazing remixes from Christian Prommer and HearThuG.

My Favorite Robot is a Canadian production and DJ outfit that has become known for a mature, musical and absorbing sound that is genuinely emotive. As well as releasing on their own My Favorite Robot Records label — which itself is a bastion of music with real artistic worth — they have released on Life And Death, Crosstown, Last Night on Earth, No.19 Music and many others.
Their original ‘Bottom of the Stairs’ is a spine tingling affair with haughty, reflective metallic chords, slick and undulating beats and a real sense of tension in the bassline. There are some crisp and clean prog house aesthetics at work too, slowly uplifting listeners before the perfectly pained vocal line really makes us soar.

Tunisian HearThuG (who has released on MFR before now) turns in a remix that is a more slow burning affair and adds oodles of reverb to the vocal line as well as layering in plenty of melodic brilliance.

Germany’s Christian Prommer, who has a fine discography that takes in standout tracks on Compost Records, Sonar Kollektiv and K7 then offers two versions. His brilliant ‘vocal remix’ is a stripped back affair with epic chords that really make for dramatic and arresting listening. The beats and percussion are silky and infectious and the whole thing truly resonates. An instrumental version rounds things out.

Sincopat welcomes back the exquisite and forward-thinking style of HearThuG. The Tunisian talent gives one more step into his unique sound presenting three original tracks forming this 'Acid Tears EP' which includes also a remix of the great and colourful Berliner Bebetta.
HearThuG music has reached a high level in the last months and this EP proves that constant evolution. 'Crossroads' is a super organic composition whose synths are bubbling along layers of different patterns. Working on this extraordinaire leitmotiv, Bebetta does her best introducing new percussion and an evolving bass to the menu. Dancefloor madness is confirmed with this version of the German artist with the touch she gives to the breakdown. 'Smiling Despair' is probably the most conceptual track of the EP but on the other hand it will have also a huge response in the clubs. Last but not least, 'Acid Tears' is offering a beautiful symphony over a hypnotic and strong rhythm. HearThuG's journey keeps its path and it sure will last.

This is a rhythmic exchange. The fruit of self-isolation, pandemic invasion and atmospheric almost poetic Acid notes. The End is not the name of the track, it’s some mellifluous pads and unmistakable lyrics of hope. Yes, you read that right.
