Premiere: Demuir - The Feeling Of Knowing [Purveyor Underground]

Roush are back with there ninth instalment, this time courtesy of our patron himself Hector Couto with the launch of his new EP  "People Talk” provident underground touches influenced by the most profound Deep House sounds.

Giving us some potent Bass Lines, electronic drums and sinuous vocals which have help create Hector’s own unique style we all recognise,with his raw sound  comes two tracks which without doubt would bring life to any dance floor ,adding another great release to our label.

On the back of this release we count on the talents of a great remixer non other than DJ Le Roi, who with his own unique style from Switzerland gives us a brilliant remix which will not allow you too keep still for sure.

We've teamed up with our good friends at Toolroom Records, to bring you an exclusive first listen of Doorly's new collaboration with dance icon Todd Terry.

Taken from the first EP in a new series called Doorly & Friends, 'On A Mission (Doorly Re-Chunk)' offers pure, unadulterated house. Driving percussion, warped vocals, acidic undertones... everything you need to get the party started is there in abundance. The release is then completed by another collaboration, this time with DJ Pierre.

Doorly was over the moon at the chance to work with the likes of Terry: "They say you should never meet your Idols... Screw that!" he says. "If you’d have told me ten years ago that I would have some Todd Terry drums to collaborate with, I would have thought you were mental. If there’s one instrument or sound that's influenced me more than anything else, then it’s those raw, uncompromising drum sounds of his. You can’t beat those brave, distorted, chunky grooves. Todd Terry is easily one of my biggest musical influences and now a good mate."

Doorly & Friends 01 is set to drop via the Toolroom Beatport on October 27th.

PREMIERE: Retromigration - Half Fried

Jorhav is back at home with the boss Sergio Bennett with an incredible track that will make you soar to the skies, the maxi is accompanied by a super remix by Mexican producer Jizz, already consolidated within the minimal / deep tech genre, a wonderful team!! On side A, the original cut, with a criminal bass line driving the entire track, some stabs playing from one side to the other, a frenetic rhythm on the drums and a sensual and super sexy vocal, To the Sky' becomes one of the best tracks from the guys. Fantastic. On side B, the remix by Jizz, less aggressive than the original, but with a very elegant vibe, on another level, the groove is great, the string in the break creates total suspense and when it breaks the dance floor it is destroyed, the stabs are also very important in the remix, they have a notable presence, good job mate. Friend! You must have this maxi in your collection without a doubt!

Regardless of if they were releasing the biggest act in the country, or a relative newcomer, I always opened their promos with anticipation, because I knew they would be straight fire.

To join the family is an enormous honour, and I'm really proud of this record, my first offering as a member of the Sweat family. Hot Sauce, being a very fitting title.

"im tired of hearing tracks that are obviously made to make the Beatport Top 10 charts! That market doesn’t interest me at all' Instead, I'm looking to release music that will still be around in 10 years time. Music aimed primarily at the danc efloor. Music with soul and depth and meaning. this is the reason i am launching Moxy Muzik." these are the the words Darius Syrossian used to answer a recent question in an interview on why he is launching his new label

And here we are, the first release on the new Moxy Muzik VINYL & DIGITAL label, an essential EP featuring one of his own originals and excellent remixes by Man Power, East End Dubz and Doc Martin. each EP released on the label comes with bespoke, hand-drawn artwork by Charlotte Archer.

The opening track on this first EP on Moxy Muzik is Dance of the Shaman, a turbo charged house cut with warm, rubbery bass made from the unorthodox method of using an Organ underlining slick and driving drums. The infectious groove is full of late night soul and chords stabs bring plenty of human emotions. 

Me Me Me label boss Man Power remixes it into an uplifting track with happy piano chords dancing over the drums. It’s a timeless effort that will get hands in the air and bring real joy to the floor. The legendary Doc Martin then strips things back and layers in some steamy female vocals to his remix and East End Dubz (Vinyl only) does his perfectly floor facing thing with dubbed out drums and slick hi hats keeping you dancing for days. Shaf Huse delivers his trademark peak time House sound that has been heavily supported from the likes of Martinz Brothers.

Future releases on Moxy Muzik will come from the likes of Phil Weeks, Tommy Vicari Jnr, Ray Mono, Christian Burkhardt, Ben Rau, Dense & Pika and of course Darius himself & will cover plenty of sound crossing both house & techno genre's but avoiding the generic obvious sounds that Darius feels is around too much at the moment. 

* THE MOXY MUZIK RESIDENCY & LABEL PARTIES

As the Label is launched, Darius is doing a series of parties across the uk & abroad to coincide with the Launch of the label, 
these are ALL going to be all night long or 6 hour sets, and to be ONLY held in CLUBS. as well as starting a Monthly residency at Joshua Brooks in Manchester.
the purpose of this is to take ‘CLUBBING BACK TO CLUBS’ and at the same time, play long extended sets

Darius explains “ i have always said that being a true dj is playing LONG sets, and having a residency, so i want to take this opportunity to show this is what I’m about right now, of course its great to play the huge festivals, & those are great, but there doesn’t seem to be balance anymore, most shows seems to be big branded events in big spaces & short sets, small clubs are closing all over and i want to keep this culture alive, when i was younger i used to go to a club called the orbit near Leeds, i saw Jeff Mills there, i saw Sven Vath there, playing this small 500 capacity venue and it was magical, this is what i want to bring back”

Having agreed to play a 6hr set at Joshua Brooks Manchester in June, the event sold out in under 24 hours off the back of Darius tweeting a ticket link, before any artwork or even an event page was created, such was demand their was another date added the following week which also sold out
The atmosphere was electric & this led Darius to plan on a residency in 2019
