This is a song that I originally wrote to my mom but I switch up the words to be more inclusive and donated it to be used in a charity video about raising awareness for sexual violence, one day I'll get around to posting the original 5 min version I wrote.

Crazy

I am a 26 year old genderqueer singer songwriter born and raised in Canmore, Alberta and currently residing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. My best friend calls my genre "acoustic soul".
Songwriting is how I process my emotions and how I communicate. I started by writing poetry and singing covers, and then one day I accidentally wrote a song!
My high school teacher, and the person I owe my music career to heard me singing and playing guitar one day in his guitar class and encouraged me to come jam with a lunchtime rock band. I have terrible anxiety, stage fright, and fear of showing my music to people. Brett Balon helped me come out of my shell and showed me that music is a gift meant to be shared.
I like many other musicians, have had a lot of struggles in life. My goal is to share my story through music because I know I'm not the only one who has experienced the challenges and trauma that I have. I want to write music that people can connect to. I want to give a voice to those who may not be ready to speak their truth, or are not able to. I am a survivor of many things and forms of abuse, and I believe it's what makes me as raw and vulnerable as I am with my songwriting. I would never take back or erase all of my trauma and scars, because what I love to do is create art that people can relate and share through my music. It has made me a strong, honest, compassionate and understanding person. My trauma and history gives me the drive and passion to do what I can to make the world a little more understanding.

My music is the depths of my soul and vulnerability and I hope that you can be as respectful of my vulnerability as you would with your own or a loved one as my paralyzing fear is showing the world my most broken parts to the world.
