HORLOVA is a music project by singer Vali Levchenko that explores the voice as a tool for healing, grounding, and reconnecting with the body, the Earth, and ancestral memory. At its core are collaborations with electronic artists, where vocal improvisation merges with contemporary sound.

The project's first track is a collaboration with sound producer STIPA — a meditative chant born from a stream-of-consciousness process. It invites the listener into a space of inner resource, ancestral support, and the blessing of the Earth. This sound is intended for focus, restoration, and deep listening.

Yemaya (Yoruba pronunciation), Yemanja (Portuguese pronunciation) is the Afro-Brazilian Goddess / Queen of the Sea, Mother of the Ocean, and Mother of ALL. Often portrayed as a mermaid, she is wise healer, nurturing mother, powerful warrior, fierce protector, soulful lover and grief tender. She is one with the moon and holder of the mysteries of the Divine Feminine.

This song was inspired by an AMA with Charles Eisenstein. The conversation centered around the polarization that can occur when two or more people have differing opinions. Sometimes, rather than staying open to another's point of view, we will hold our ground in a position of "rightness," making the other person "wrong," sometimes so much so that we will tear the other apart in our minds, in our hearts, in our voices. 

We see this both on the micro level in our most intimate relationships, and on the macro level in our social / political systems. What if we had the courage to stay open and curious, not making another person wrong for their beliefs or ideals? What if we are not really separate? What if that sense of separation is an illusion? 

I am grateful that Charles has the courage to put himself out there as a shining example of how we can transcend the illusion of separation by staying open and curious with each other even in the face of massive disagreement, and all the complexities of this being human. 

I was inspired to watch / listen to this AMA because it breaks my heart to feel such polarization - especially around anything pandemic related. I have dear ones on all sides of all the issues, and I've been witness to friendships being torn apart over it. Just heartbreaking.
