This song explores how our identity is affected by our struggles and experiences. Trauma in particular has a way of taking root in your mind and making itself a part of who you are, leaving you feeling like your sense of self is split into fragments, struggling to get a sense of the "real" you. The changes it provokes are confusing, and it's easy to feel like we should reject them, but the reality is that you are still yourself, even when you're struggling.

Splinters

My remix of "Millionaire", originally performed by Kelis and André 3000. The original song is incredibly nostalgic, and its message resonates heavily with me, so I wanted to immortalise its significance to me and my music by putting my own spin on it with a mixture of sampling and new synths & drums.

My remix of "Keep On Movin'", originally performed by Soul II Soul & Caron Wheeler. Uses a mixture of sampling from the track and my own synth work. This song is one of my all time favorites and a big inspiration to me, so it seemed only right to try putting my own spin on it.

Heathmoor x J.J. Son - Tie That Binds [prod. Heathmoor]

This track explores the struggle to find yourself and your place in the world when you feel like you don't belong; it comes at a time where I've been grappling with this in my own life. I took the production in a different direction with this song, fusing modern ambient cloud-rap with the Heathmoor sound to create something different and unique, but still recognisable, like a hint of one's own identity coming through into a new and unfamiliar world.
