The renown mantra, Om Namah Shivaya, has been passed down from sages since the dawn of mankind and has personally helped me overcome many challenges over the course of my life. Om Namah Shivaya translates to “Salutations to Lord Shiva, the auspicious one” and pays reverence to one of the threefold major deities of the Hindu faith. This mantra is referenced in a variety of yogic texts and hymns dating back thousands of years ago and has guided many souls through the cycle of birth and death.

Om - The sacred syllable and primordial vibration from which the entire universe arose. It signifies the ultimate reality, consciousness and Atman or soul that’s within all of us. When spelled A-U-M, aum, also signifies the three states of the Universe/three aspects of God: creation, preservation and destruction.

In totality, Om Namah Shivaya represents Lord Shiva’s oneness with the five elements and underscores the underlying truth that we are all one — that the universal consciousness behind all of creation is one. Hindu mantras are powerful vibrations, they are quite literally the manifestations of deities in the form of sound. There are countless mantras out there, but Aum Namah Shivaya is the foundational mantra of Shaivism, the world’s oldest religion. You can never go wrong with this mantra, for it calls upon Lord Shiva, the Destroyer, the God of gods.

Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge's 'Shake It' was a defining moment of minimal tech in 2005, and Ejeca modernises it with a full-bodied treatment of peaktime melodic techno. The finale offering of new tracks created to mark the anniversary come from John Tejada & Justin Maxwell and Kindimmer; the former reach for vintage boompty house and noodly acid on 'All We Know', while the latter opts for delicately minimalist deep house construction for the chiming, gleaming 'Tremor'.

With all four of Poker Flat's Four Jacks now been revealed, the label has played its winning hand once again, demonstrating just how they have stayed at the top of their game at 15 years deep.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.
